Separate WR for Arcade version

Hi!

The arcade version of SF2 has three bonus rounds instead of the classic two of SNES. On top of that, the scoring system is much slower, making it effectively worse to get a "perfect" bonus (it takes longer to add it). Given these problems, shouldn't Arcade be its own category, with its own WR?

Thanks!

I too, assumed that SNES was faster, but after crunching the data I wasn't so sure.

Total in-game timer counts from my 9:15 arcade run is 1785. Total in-game timer counts from TheAndySocialNetwork's 9:44 SNES run is 1778.

That's a difference of 7 in-game clock ticks, which is only a couple seconds in real-time, and I still had to do an extra bonus stage! So why is my run almost 30 seconds faster? I started to examine the video more closely, and it seems that basically everything non-gameplay is faster in arcade vs SNES (black screen transitions, matchup screens, even most score counting), but the arcade has an extra bonus stage.

Fair enough. Thanks for making this!

I’ve tried to get close to your score lately :) Have a few low 10s, and can probably easily get a sub-10 now, but 9m 15s is pretty insane, doubt I can get there soon. And it seems like you can still do better!

Yeah my run isn't perfect.. It might even be possible to get it under 9 minutes in theory?

My interest now is how to -not- get perfects, which is kind of a mini-game in itself trying to find a way to reliably take quick damage while also getting the fastest time. I'd love to figure out something for Boxer and Claw for example, as they have long score counting.

I also find cross ups can be difficult in world warrior because the shotos have higher jump arcs.. but I also love WW because it's got all the fun kooky stuff, like double-damage hit boxes (if you know of a way to make blanka do his roll plz let me know lol), and Claw OTG combos (which I have not yet tried to implement in a run, hrmmm).

I've also had runs ruined by the 1-in-512 chance of getting a random special move "feature" exclusive to WW as well, which hilariously frustrating.

Sorry to spam, just want to add on my last post.. It -is- possible to get under 9 minutes (see my youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-3nFTcTIwZBEza3y73eEEQ)

Figured out a way to get blanka to roll: medium range whiff s.MP Also trying to incorporate getting hit by Boxer and Claw.. which backfired against Boxer, derp. I only lost a second though compared to not getting hit at all, so there's some definite merit to trying it.

Congrats on the new run man, it's pretty amazing. I don't play Ryu/Ken much so, but there's still a ton to learn from your timing. And was that a punch-dance to the soundtrack music in the barrel stage lol?

Haven't had much time to play lately, but was working on a possibly mid-9 Blanka run. Not sure there's much of a point now though :)
