Hi!

I would like to begin running this game and I wanted to check if there are any route notes available. The link in the guides section doesn't seem to be up-to-date and I wanted to make sure nothing else exists before I start from square one :D

I've already seen the TAS notes so any other resources with the exception of watching existing runs on the leaderboard (which I already plan to do) would be much appreciated!

There are some notes out there. They were made for Puwexil and Gyre when they were learning the game. They heavily reference Dragondarchs WR video, but they have a lot explanations for safeties and early strats. I would have to see if they are still floating around or not.

Would anyone be able to tell me if it's permissible to skip the cutscene of the hero exiting the cave after naming him? Doing so drops the 15.2 second wait down to a 0.9 second wait, which is kind of nice. I understand it's a bit trivial; it would just make resets a little easier to deal with, I think.

Are you talking about just hitting continue instead of naming your character, or the trick where you skip it by holding down after entering your name?

The latter, yes, but let me get an exact frame count on what you'd need to set your timer to start at. The former, no.

The trick of holding down after entering the name. I tried to time it out using avidemux but feel free to check me on that. If it's something that will take a lot of time, don't feel rushed or anything. I'm in the process of learning this one at a more casual pace in between other runs so the matter isn't pressing by any means.

I keep wanting to run this game -- I got a 1:04 at one point with a wild warp run, but its slower than darc's no-warp time! :D I'd love to see what better runners could do with a wild warp run. More interesting to me than a standard non-100% run.

Can be a frustrating game to run.

Dragondarchs level of optimization is unreal, on top of that, he overall got really good rng. Getting a time down below mine is hard, let alone close to his LOL

The first 15 minutes of the game are the most difficult, and then at the end you are reliant on Draygon 2 not hosing you with a minute time loss you can do nothing about.
