Same as All Cups Skips, but you may use Gameshark codes to complete races. The use of "Start at the end of Lap 3" is banned. Y scale modifiers are allowed. and much more... Adding/removing certain cheats is allowed. Times under 11m 15s require video.
I don't think any game on speedrun.com has anything gameshark related. That's not what speedrun is. Because I could just find a gameshark code that ends every race, or bring to the credits, spawn the final boss in the first stage. I think that's not what speedrunning is meant to be. Speedrunning is running a game as is, with or without the glitches the developers didn't fix or never found out. It's about skills, it's about nostalgia, it's about love for a specific game. Running a game with cheats ON, it's really not as fun. Speedrunning at 600cc with infinite stars, ok it's fast, but.. what's the point in the end? Is it really impressive ? Is it really something people want to fight for the first place ? I don't think so.
You even made a website for it, as a full time web designer/web developer, it hurts a little bit but hey its Weebly you do what you can and it's fine! :P I'm happy to see how you seem to like this idea, how you think it has potential and a game surely gets bigger with new ideas. But, using gameshark in speedrunning... I don't think it's ever gonna be a thing, even for Misc. categories :/
Shit. Much text. You look like you are one of the creators of the page hahahaha. But hey, you really are right, the games should be played either with or without glitches, when using a hack like speedrun it no longer makes sense. So we already know people, speedruns without hacks. Just pure glitch
I literally just said "That's not allowed" and I see all this text lol. But true.
I mean like how some cheats are banned, like a lap in zero seconds, or end the race instantly.
