The background of the sent messages in the "Messages" section has a bad contrast with the background and the text, in dark mode. White text on bright green is hard to read, and the bright green is too much bright for the black/grey background behind it. (In dark mode I want to relax my eyes, not strain them)

In light mode the colors are fine.

I wish to be able to add translations to rules for games I moderate to other languages, in ways other than putting them all in the same textbox. I think it's very important to help facilitate the community world wide than just english. If there's a way to do this already, please let me know :)

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but a dedicated space to add mod notes, which notify the user upon verification that there is a mod note. For right now, if there's a mod note that I want someone to see, I'll message them, but having it built in would be nice.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, or if it already exists, but there should be a way for supermods to be able to check how many runs each moderator has verified.

@TheFirstOreo Theoretically you can find this stat in the audit log, but this log is so unreadable and you can't filter it or export it anyway.

Can we recruit some forum mods please? So many topics needing closed / moved to the correct forum / deleted (as started by bots)

Example: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/v5gwj/

I was looking through the games that have the fewest runs a few days ago because I was curious and I noticed that there were tons of games with just 0 runs in them. Why are there so many games with 0 runs? Especially if they've never had a run submitted to them and they've been there for ages, why are they still even there? This applies to a lesser extent to games with like 1 or 2 runs, but at least someone did something in those cases?

If you delete your account, then your runs disappear too afaik. I'm guessing these boards had one run on them previously and the runner deleted their account.

@AppleSaws and @ckellyedits When someone deletes their account, there is an option to also remove all associated runs, or leave them be.

That being said, after looking on some of the games with 0 runs, I can see several reasons:

  • Some of the games were requested very recently (in the past 14 days), and so no one has submitted a run yet. Sometime the person who requested the game didn't manage to set up categories for the game yet.
  • Some of the games are part of a series, so I assume the moderators of the series added those games themselves as part of the series, but didn't do any runs for those games.
  • The runs counter apparently only counts full-game runs, and ignore IL runs (this is very similar to the issue with "active runners" count). There are some games that only have IL categories; so no matter how much popular those games are, they will always have "zero runs" in the list.
  • Sometimes it just as simple as that - the person who requested the game requested it, set up a category, and then left the leaderboard like that for some reason. (Not even submitting the video that was used for the game request). From my short sample of zero-runs games, it appears this is reason appears the least amount of times.

Add further flag emoji text support.

I posted this as a thread: "Microsoft does not support flag emojis. On speedrun.com, there are a few places where you can type flags as [us], like in the username when you submit on behalf of someone else. Is there anyway to do this in other locations? For example, we have guides in multiple languages now, and I want to be able to mark / sort the guides using a flag indicator. "

  • @Oreo321 correctly pointed out that this is a feature and can be used in textboxes like these. However, they don't work in the title of Guides, and I'm sure other locations. I want to mark the language of our guides using the flag as an indicator, but these dont show correctly on Windows 10 and other platforms, so was hoping that the feature can be extended to at least guide titles.

I wish there were several changes to how editing a run works:

  • under "Runs awaiting verification" an edited run should be distinguishable from a new submission and it should show what was edited with the old and new values
  • you should be able to get notified when a mod edits your run (and again see what was edited)
  • the audit log should also show what exactly was changed

The limit on the number of runs being displayed in the verification queue makes it almost unusable for mods of larger games. I can't even see some of the games I mod in my queue sometimes because it's almost always in the 50-100 runs range. Can we please get some kind of filter for the queue to see runs from specific games, or the ability to scroll through multiple pages of runs?

Suggestion to add a leaderboard sandbox so moderators can try out features without affecting a real leaderboard or inadvertently sending notifications to followers of a game. The only "sandbox" usable right now is just to make changes to a game with few followers, then revert them.

Additional suggestion to give moderators the option to submit a run without sending a WR notification, in case of moving runs between boards (full-game to IL, main to extensions) or submitting N/A times.

@garsh I feel like most of those items you listed can be easily solved by using a community discord for a game. For fusion, we have community members volunteer for verifier role. Once given that, they're given access to a channel for verifier discussion for runs where all the super mods/mods/verifiers can see it and discuss. We also run community polls through the discord as well so that everyone in the community can vote. I'm not saying the suggestions are bad for the site, but I feel like a lot of your issues could be solved through alternative means, such as discord. Especially since I feel like there's a very healthy amount of runners (definitely a majority) that use discord in the first place and wouldn't require having to check SRC often and risk missing a potentially important poll.

I definitely agree that having a way to identify users that frequently submit false runs and have a way of blacklisting them from submitting could definitely save a lot of time for some verifiers. As it relates to #3, users that delete their accounts are given the option to remove their runs as they are deleting the account if I recall correctly. Doing it automatically just because "they don't have an account on the site anymore," might be a bit of a tough sell for all leaderboards.

Why did you guys take away Country/User page? That was really relevant to me to find speedrunners from all around the world. I would like that back soon.

I believe there is great power in idtems. Each item can be charged with such energy to increase its power. Items are the easiest way to connect your strength with the non-material world, making us stronger. We don't need much to buy items. I'm sure we shouldn't be saving in the game to buy items. Something that helps us so much like buy items that we shouldn't save on it.

@juh0 That was removed to manage traffic on the site, I'm not sure when or if it'll be coming back.
