This is probably not the best place to ask. I’ve seen it mentioned when talking about Guest Star runs, but I don’t get what happens.
Normally when you die, boss HP gets reduced. This reverts back when you exit your current mode though.
However, if you get a Game Over, their health stays reduced, even if you shut off the game.
I myself am still trying to look into it myself though, as it almost seems like something permanent, I dunno. After all, I saw a Three Mage-Sisters run where every single boss is affected by this, without any Game Overs shown, unless some really good editing was done for that video.
@tails41yoshi The video you're talking about is a segmented run that has been edited, it has game overs involved
Yeah, I guessed as much, what I DO find odd, is that it somehow works on midbosses.
The fact is, if you get a game over on any mode after any boss, the game will reduce their HP,no matter which mode you switched to.
Yeah, it’s used in speedruns because it allows you to reduce bosses’ health without the times of your deaths being added. That’s how someone has like 16:17 Dark Meta Knight or 17:29 Mages. You aren’t getting a time that low without it.
