OBS Game Capture captures NOTHING (but a solid black screen)

Anyone know why this happens? Game Capture works maybe 10% of the time for me. Window Capture has a much higher success rate (probably 95%, notwithstanding the other problem I have that I posted here about), but with games that can't be windowed (and a hearty BOO-URNS to that), Window Capture isn't an option.

Any help? I've mostly noticed this with games I doubt people will recognise by name, but I can rattle 'em off if it will help.

Are you looking for something to take those games out of full-screen?

This might help: http://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/

Have you tried running both in administrator mode? Sometimes certain things are blocked without it and may be causing your black screen problem.

Pretend you're talking to an idiot. What is 'administrator mode' ?

Antarctica

Its the "I OWN you, computer" mode.

Right click on the application and select "Run as Administrator". Then enter your password.

@kobepilgrim - downloaded and unzipped that program, tried to run it and absolutely nothing happened. Got the popup saying "do you want this unknown app to make changes to your computer" clicked yes, then nothing. So it doesn't look like it works.

@Timmiluvs - I don't have a password (I live alone, no one else will ever access this computer)

@FurryWulfz - Windows 10, unless I'm misunderstanding the question.

(Seriously guys, I was computer literate in like 1998 and have not advanced much since then. It's a minor miracle I can stream anything :P )

For admin mode - http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/how-run-programs-as-administrator-in-windows-10-3632744/

Also, what games are you trying to record, and are they stand-alone or via something like Steam?

Something happened :D

It opens in the tray of your task bar:

Now that I downloaded it again, I remember how I used it. I was playing a game that was already windowed, and I wanted to make it borderless. It should work for a fullscreen game, as well. I'll try it with a game of mine to see if it works that way, too.
