Question about IGT on runs

Hi, noticed that the IGT time was taken off of my Hero/Dark Story submissions. Is there a reason why you only accepted Real Time for certain runs? It doesn't say anything in the rules about it.

I can't find your runs on the boards, but I would guess they weren't sub 50 RTA.

Ingame time only is being used for runs sub 50 minutes RTA, and we actually will remove the IGT from any submission that dont meet that threshold. We don't want to require ingame time and video proof for every submitted run cause that might turn off new runners and would also mean a whole lot more work for the mods. So we only have ingame time and required video proof for runs that are more competitive. The reason we have to remove ingame time for runs over the 50 minute mark is because otherwise it will mess up the rankings. The leaderboards are set to IGT, and as result of that, any run, no matter how slow it is, would be ranked higher than a run of, let's say, 51 minute RTA that does not have IGT submitted. To prevent that, the best possible way is to just have +50 minute runs be strictly timed by real time

^ What Nim said. It fundamentally boils down to "IGT is only an accurate measurement if the run isn't strewn with deaths and restarts, which a >50 minute run is not likely to have". It's basically our cutoff threshold for where the "serious" runs start. It may be an arbitrary limit, but it serves its intended purpose well, which is to keep an accurate record of the qualitatively stronger runs, and the people who've put some serious time into getting a good run.

I couldn't help but notice that you did SADX runs to get 'high' ranks on the board purely because that's how that board is sorted now, so you may see my point here; we don't do it the same way here. RTA sorting until a 'good' time, then IGT from thereon out. It's also impractical to use IGT for historical runs as they may not all be on PC or otherwise captured in high quality, there have been runs before where it's legitimately difficult to determine what the IGT is.
