Based off of the current rules of Any% & maybe even warpless, I could start a run, pause, teleport to the hub, beat bosc, and submit my time, cutting the 10m run in half.

I'm not going to do this, but i recommend updating the rules to disallow the hub, or making it another category or subcategory since it is currently allowed and much faster.

Likewise, I would specify the disallowment of any and all in game cheat codes, except maybe dark blasto, or implement a category specifically for them.

Are you saying you'd activate the warp then start a new game and pause from episode 1 to go to the hub? Cuz if that's the case that run would get rejected as that's cheating

How would it be cheating? I'm using a built in warping feature, just like the other warps. As long as you have a save of blasto on your memory card w/ the HUB onlocked you can go there at anypoint, new game or loaded game.

I have no qualms w/ the run being rejected, just saying it SHOULD be in the rules either way.

Okay i'll add that in the rules now

There are generally excepted principles all speedruns follow. Beating a game in one sitting is one of them. There are some cases of games using quasi-NG+ by manipulating the game with existing files, but those still use the same file that the new game was started on.

I think everyone explained it pretty well already, but of course you can still do runs like this, you just wouldn't upload it to the boards as a Any% run, as ROMaster2 said, it would be considered a NG+ or New Game+ run as a general consensus among src

but as I said, feel free to do runs like this anyways, new things are only discovered by trying new things, and also speedrun times are just arbitrary, you don't need your time to be on the LB to still have it be a Speedrun. If you want competition tho, then just run the regular categories.
