Need better way to sort Low% runs by % Value
Toronto, ON, Canada

Hi as everyone probably knows Low% leaderboards are the hardest to get working correctly on almost any board i've seen that allows for submission for multiple % amounts so we need a way to sort by first % or items collected then by time after that otherwise the leaderboards just keep getting confused how to determine when another run has better parameters, example i have a 10 and 12% run submit for Axiom Verge but it still thinks my 12% is better since it has the better time but in reality the 10% is better and should be shown instead at the top.

This exact same request has been brought up before, I'd have to go digging for the thread though. So you're not the only one asking for this.

One temporary solution I've seen boards do is "obsolete" % based versions of a category when a lower (or higher) % route is found. This prevents a single LB from holding multiple runs with different %s and eliminates this issue since the main LB will only ever have runs with the lowest (or highest) known %. An example of this is the Max% Child category on the OOT CE boards ( https://www.speedrun.com/ootextras#Max_Child ). The run aims to get as many items as possible as child Link and when another item is found to be possible, the existing boards is "archived" under Misc. and a new one is created for the new route.

While this isn't a great solution, it might provide at least a temporary workaround for the problem at hand. At least until the site redesign is done and new features can be added again.

ya, I tried doing something similar to this, except we didn't archive the existing board which could be a good idea. As for obsolete option that didn't help at all it would take the fastest time regardless of % so my 12% sub 1 hour run would always beat my 10% 1 hour run since time was faster regardless of the boards going by %, so I'll give the archive trick a try for now since by the sounds of it any more work then that isn't worth it till the updated redesign process is completed. Thanks for the advice.
