Leaderboards moderation requests thread

Hello. Actually, I am the moderator of the "Puyo Puyo Series" for more than one year now. As I've less time to verify videos, and as I'm trying to distant myself with the "speedrunning" activity (I want to do other things), I wanted to ask if someone was interested in taking my place as a moderator for the "Puyo Puyo Series"

Token: Though I agree with the idea, I think lecorbak should at least ask the people you've mentioned before handing each game off to them as they may not want to carry the burden of running the boards.

The mod of Blockland (http://www.speedrun.com/Blockland_Retail) has been inactive for about a year. There are some awesome categories for the game that need to be added such as ninja jump speedruns. There are forum posts that have not been responded to, and im sure this guy stopped looking at new runs on purpose to keep his WR.

"[...] and im sure this guy stopped looking at new runs on purpose to keep his WR."

How can you be sure of that? There is no need to make such negative assumptions, unless you have good reason. Also--not that it would sway your case either way--but the mod has been inactive for only two months, not a year. Activity information can be found by clicking the "info" tab on a user's profile.

Kirkq is the site moderator that is responsible for responding to these requests. He does so in batches. The most recent one was a few days ago, so it should be another few days until he checks back.

@kobepilgrim Wether its true or not makes no difference. And 2 months is still too much. The maximum is like 3 weeks. The point is that there are some things that i could do to make the page better that this guy obviously does not care enough to do.

@Hu3y524

I understand the point that you were making, and I tried to make that clear by saying that it wouldn't "sway your case either way".

I just wanted to inform you how to find an accurate account of a user's activity, just so that you know for the future, and so that you don't mistakenly assume that someone is inactive when they may actually be.

Edit: and yes, if it's true or not makes a difference because you are speaking negatively about someone that you don't know. The comment that you made was negative, malicious, and unfounded.

@LozBlind

Can't it be assumed that a user has exhibited zero activity on SRC since the last time they visited the site? I used "activity" for lack of a better term, and for lack of time to think of a better phrasing. May I ask why you're making the distinction? Also, what is the exact distinction that you are making between the terms? I can't tell what point you are speaking toward or who you are refuting.

Are you saying that a user can visit the site without being active? In that case, I see your point, but I am under the assumption that Hu3y524 hasn't been keeping tabs on TheBlackParrot for long enough to know how active they are, or how active they were before two months ago. If that's your point, then I don't think that's what Hu3y524 was saying or trying to imply, though I do agree with you.

I do know that its been a very long time. I looked at that page many times before i even knew this forum existed. That was many months ago

Its definitely been at most a year, and definitely no less than 4 months. Either way you look at it this guy obviously doesn't care enough to be the only mod on the page.

@LozBlind

I know :)

Please know that I am never here to outright dispute or argue. I purposefully try to generate discussion, rather than discord. That involves asking some direct questions that get construed as argumentative :P

I literally said that I agree with you, if that's the point you were makin, and I was asking if you could clarify your point.

I also wasn't saying that the user is active. I tried to make it clear that I understood that two months is no better than a year. I know that they are inactive, but I wanted to inform Hu3y where to find a more accurate stat for use in his proposal. Anyone that comes here and states a number that contradicts the last login is usually corrected, based on the last login.

Most of my assumptions are based on the fact that Hu3y's account is only a month old, but maybe he had a different account before.

Anyway, I don't like to chime in on this thread, because there are already enough statements flying around about people's requests. My intention was to inform Hu3y where to find "last login" information. He also made a comment that was very negative toward a person that he may not even know, and without providing any evidence. I don't care about the technicalities of this and that activity whatever, but trying to portray people as something that they may not be is not "sportsmanlike", for lack of a better term (I'm on the toilet at work. Gotta hurry!) It's not nice. It shouldn't have a place here.

@Hu3y

I wasn't trying to dispute your request. I only wanted to inform you where you could find accurate information. Unless you have been part of that game's community long enough, then you wouldn't know certain information beyond the users last login. Just because a leaderboard is inactive doesn't mean the moderator is inactive. It may simply mean that the game is "dead".

Again, I understand that the moderator is inactive, but it seems like you are making some unnecessary and possibly inaccurate claims to support your case.

Greetings. I request to become a moderator for https://www.speedrun.com/Five_Nights_at_Freddys_Sister_Location (Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location). The game had been added on October 20th, 2016, and one of your Game Request policies are "Requested games/series that have not been set up 2 weeks after being accepted, will be deleted." The moderator, despite being online since 20 hours ago currently as I'm writing this post, had not set up the leaderboard or any other regulation to the page. The mod has also not responded to a user on the forum page who had asked to be a mod to create categories, etc. which was posted 6 days ago, but no response. Despite online activity, there is inactivity in the game's page, and there is only 1 week left before the game will be deleted. To ensure the game's existence in the site, as well as putting work into the game's page, I would like to request to be a moderator for the game. If needed, I also have my own run for the game, and I am an active moderator for 2 other games.
