Is a prototype of one game (that's unreleased) considered as a game?

Hello speedrun.com community!

I'm very unsure about this, but I wanted to request a game that's unreleased, yet has some prototypes (or beta/alpha releases) available to run and download. The only problem is, that I don't know exactly if any of the prototypes could be considered as a "game", only unreleased officially.

I've seen that unofficial releases are indeed some times accepted on a website, so maybe the alpha versions could be considered as "games"?

Here's a link to the game (in development) i'm talking about: https://philraco-indie.itch.io/mike-adventures

The link doesn't get you much information about the game tho

It's a gray area, as not every demo will have a "finished build", especially in the indie scene. Therefore don't put your money on it, but definitely present your case on why it might actually come out. Even then, there isn't a 100% reliable answer for this.

From the Game Request Rules:
Games in a very early development stage will be examined much more thoroughly, and if balancing and bug changes are happening quite frequently we may hold off on accepting the request for a board until the game is more developed.
As usual, everything is considered on a case-by-case basis. I've not looked at the game but if it truly is a prototype that sounds far too early on in development.

I think if the proto is avail for more than one person, by all means allow it. I think in a case where I use my proto I made of Endless Snow would be unfair to all.
