I attempted a run and before I went into derrick, I had level 3 throw. I am confused on how Runners get Level 4 as it's better for derrick Also, can you use level 3 throw in derrick?

So in my run that's waiting validation, I was able to get it with level 3 throw. It took a second try, as well as lure hitting both times with both organic lure/throw. I wouldn't recommend it.

Best I can say is use an invasion district. This increases gag exp but also doesn't change the cogs in the playground because it's TTC.

So the invasions are really important. You need to have good rng with those, and I think the 1.2 update made it so TTC is not affected by invasions. Therefore, you now can stay in an invasion district the whole run. I would love to try this out, and it should help you get to cake slice.

Same sort of idea. It IS possible to get level 4 throw before Derrick Man, (Only managed this because of the extra points because of the release of 1.2) and much much easier for the reasons stated above, I've also noticed that after you get a certain number of high level gags (For myself: Level 4 Throw and Level 3 Lure,) Derrick Man's cogs get stronger and have more in general, it's an RNG fest no matter if you get level 4 throw or not.
