Practicing specific parts of a run can be a bit of a hassle when running Transistor due to autosaving on the selected profile being the only save mechanism. While learning and practicing the current Low% route, I gathered 2 sets of 5 profiles, each one at a major location (before big skips, important fights and so on). I wanted to ask if it would be a good idea to upload these in the resources section as it would get rid of having to do a fresh run to the desired part of the run which you want to practice. Using these files is pretty easy, as you can simply overwrite your current saves (location: http://steamcommunity.com/app/237930/discussions/1/540743128802595639/#c540742485347814006 ).
If everyone is fine with it I could do the same thing for Any% which would probably be more useful as that is the more popular category.
In light of the recent loading time differences, the idea of an autosplitter has been considered. I have no clue about this topic, but we wanted to ask before proceeding too far: Would such an autosplitter be allowed if it had to use a 3rd party program to read the game's memory? For further discussion, there is also a Discord which can be joined here: https://discord.gg/0pjZp0ShyPFtXqGx
The reason a 3rd party program would've been needed is because there's a chance that Transistor doesn't play nicely with ASL. However, said program can be replaced by a livesplit component.
Just wanted to point that out since it makes the consideration of a 3PP irrelevant.
Autosplitter script has been completed. Now we just need leaderboards to show IGT, as well.
Time Without Loads added as default. Old runs will use their time as if it's without loads, if you want to update it to an accurate time, edit the submission. New times will obviously be "faster" so they'll update them.
Great! Maybe the rules should hint at the usage of the load remover for the respective time in the leaderboards as well.
The Discord server was disbanded as it was only really a gathering place for discussions regarding the load time remover/auto splitter. I'm not sure there are enough active runners right now as to where a new server would make sense. :^)
