For example why in the category Any% no bug jump there is a sub category "glitchless" which is empty and next to it a "segmented" one whith one runner using a lot of glitch for go through walls and other stuff ? Not clear to me.

Georgia, USA

Glitchless isn't a subcategory of no-bj. What the fuck are you talking about.

As for segmented, yes, it should be removed but Ewil won't let us because he's dumb.

Glitchless is not a subcategory of No Bug Jump, they're both separate subcategories. They are simply placed on two lines due to size restrictions. You can verify this by clicking either one of them, which should only highlight the one you selected.

I would like some help clarifying a strat for the glitchless run. Looking through the forum I couldn't find much discussion of the back handspring/left roll aside from the initial suggestions to ban them. Left roll zipping is banned (as it should be) while the back handspring is not and I would like to discuss it. I mention both of these strats because they were often listed with each other due to their similarities. If you perform a forward roll, side roll, or back handspring on a slope you will ascend a great height. Here is a quick video showing all of the places you can use it in the run that I currently know of. I could argue that it's at least a borderline glitch that would fit more in Better Than Glitchless since we have that category separation. It feels like an oversight for Lara's animations to not be interrupted by the slope and the distance you gain with it is excessive. The strat has always felt a bit off to me and I'd like to make sure that everything used in the run is agreed upon. I have been working on improving this run quite a bit and I would vote to have it removed from glitchless.

This is an update, for anyone coming from the Glitchless Ruleset. Back Handspring Zipping has been determined similar to Left Roll Zipping, making it not allowed to perform during Glitchless runs from now on. If you want an example of what is now allowed and not allowed in terms of back handsprings, here's a video: Examples 1 to 3 show back handsprings that are now not allowed anymore. Examples 4 to 8 show back handsprings that still remain allowed.

When you reach the end of a level, you get a Level Complete screen, that shows a bunch of statistics, and asks you if you want to save the game or not. Runners found a new way to skip this, by pressing alt+f4 then pressing no when reaching a Level Complete screen.

This alt+f4 method is from now on NOT allowed for Glitchless runs. Instead, you must go through Level Complete screens by pressing ENTER twice then pressing "No" to the "Would you like to save?" question (or "Yes", if you like to be slow).

Here's a comparison showing both ways of doing it: Example on the right is the one you shouldn't do. Example on the left is the right way to do it.

New Rules / New Windowed Mode

As of the posting of this message, these rules apply for every category:

  • Changing framerate using a third-party program (e.g. Dxtory, RivaTuner...) mid-run to perform specific tricks is banned. However, you are allowed to switch your refresh rate through the game's options during your runs.
