Overclocking ePSXe 2.0.2 for PS1 Spyro games

Hey everyone I saw that on the new ePSXe emulator there's an overclocking option. You can go x1.5, x2, x3 and x4. Obviously the higher you go, the faster the load times and certain parts of the game (like the pause menu) speed up. I assume this isn't allowed for official speedruns, correct? Just wanted to clarify.

um, probably not, that'll probably need to be looked into in more depth, since we dont want emus generally being faster than ps2 sds (or maybe closer to ps1 instead)

but again, we would need to see this in action to really tell whether its acceptable or not, but it would be interesting to see something that could possibly be competitive to vita/tv on emu tho

but obv, we would like to see official hardware (consoles and such) be the version that most people should run on

I timed a few things and it doesn't seem like the overclocking affects Spyro loads too much aside from small gains on cutscenes. ePSXe 2.0 still has a big gain over SDS by default.

grant i did some tests and it was very out of what is expected from emu

So it is allowed? It speeds up spyro 2 theatre strats by quite a bit
