Re-release: New Game or New Game+?

The re-release allows you to skip cutscenes, which is the only difference between new game plus and new game in previous releases. I've already noticed some re-release runs get posted in multiple categories, giving a false impression of some kind of difference where none exists. Shouldn't there be a standard?

Unless there is some difference I should be aware of.

NG+ still has some skippable cutscenes which NG doesn't. It isn't as bad before the original (the reason NG+ category exists) but adds up so I feel the categories still aren't comparable.

Unskippable cutscenes in NG that are skippable in NG+: Cool Z junkyard cutscene: 48 seconds Ren construction cutscene: 1 min 26 seconds Wong cutscene: 33 seconds

Huh. That's really weird.

Yes, the reason that there are separate NG and NG+ categories is that in the Dreamcast and Xbox versions there are many cutscenes that are not skippable in NG that are in NG+, meaning you take a different route in each category.

If the separate categories didn't already exist, we probably wouldn't have a separate category for them for the Re-release, as the route is identical across NG and NG+; however, since there are minor differences they're here for consistency.

Patch v2 has made some previously skippable cutscenes unskippable.

cool z we're leaving scene: 36 seconds joy and wong scene: 41 seconds saying bye to wong: 1 min 10 seconds

I don't know if these cutscenes have also been made unskippable in NG+.
