Instead of Any% and 100%, perhaps Polpo and Putica can be the two differentiating categories. As 100% doesn't really make sense in context of this game to be an objective.

Actually, is the difficulty the same progressive ramping for both characters? Either way, I would appreciate having how each playthrough affects the requirements explained :D. It is now evident to me that I need to start from a blank save every time for Any%

Hi, my original intention was to have just two categories, NG Polpo and a NG Polpo into Putica combined playthrough. I only ended up doing 1 category though and unfortunately it's been a long time so I don't remember much about the difficulty changes after beating Polpo's campaign. Is there a specific category you want to run? I can change it into just Polpo and just Putica if that suits you. For Putica's category, I would imagine it would be from a save immediately after Polpo's campaign is completed.

Ok so I did some research. The first thing I noticed is every time you beat the game the objectives change. Which is to say, there's New Game, 2nd pass, 3rd pass, I didn't test past this point cause the 2nd pass on Polpo's was quite hard and the Level 1 object was a complete turn off.

I think the objectives for each pass are consistent so it's not some kind of primitive roguelike, but I'm not interested in doing runs beyond the first pass so I vote to leave that for someone else to figure out if that day ever arises.

I think reasonable categories would simply be Polpo and Putica which would simply be the current Any% category, and then a second one for Putica.

Additionally, I think for all future run, the video should require to begin at the new game selection, although we can keep the timing the same as current. It should also state in the rules when timing starts & finishes.

Also, I would request adding a link to the following post for standardized PS1 emulation usage that all future runs should adhere to: https://www.speedrun.com/crash/thread/kfh5l

Thanks <3

Thanks for the write up! I have added some brief rules and renamed the categories to Polpo and Putica. Due to the current state of the game, I have not added the strict emulator rules, but feel free to use that as a solid base. Everything else should be good :)

You may also want to add console options: PS1, PS2, & PS3. As well regional options.

For the same reasons as not having emulator rules, I will not be separating the boards per console until there are more runners. For the time being I think the simplicity and unity of the boards is more important than the (lack of) competition.

I verified your runs but had to do some retiming. All of the runs on the board should now be using the same timing scheme. Because of some stutters, there may be some inaccuracies but I tried my best. Thanks for your interest!

Console & region options don't split the leaderboard, just adds more information. Also emulation rules are pretty standard for playstation speedrunning.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I added consoles and regions, but I keep my stance on the emulator issue.
