@Askover this is a last resort thread for when moderators are unresponsive and you have runs a waiting verification or you need to reach the mods for some other reason. Any moderator requests when there are active mods on a game need to go through them.

Super Mario Galaxy, like most of all of the Super Mario games and most large series in general, have very active moderators. You’d need to ask them to mod you but you probably will not be modded by them because I don’t think they need help.

I would like to request for regular mod (I am already a verifier) for the game The Slenderman Obby. It's a Roblox game. The mod has it set to time descending when it should be time ascending. I've contacted the moderator many times and have gotten ignored. Everytime I say "you there?" he says "yea" but when I ask the question he doesn't say anything. I would like to change it to time ascending.

I assume you want to be a regular mod to fix the mistakes of the super mod. I wanted to clarify this so the admins don't get confused and say "you are already a mod"

Hello, awhile back I made an emu hack https://mcclure.github.io/emu-coop/ which allows you to play 1-player games coop using item sharing, mainly Zelda 1 and Zelda 3 (there is a separate program/community for Super Metroid http://multitroid.com/). I would like to request a a Link To The Past co-op runs category on speedrun.com. I don't know of anyone except me running LTTP co-op but maybe that would change if there were a speedrun category :)

The category would be added to either the Zelda 3 extensions tab https://www.speedrun.com/alttp#Extensions or if the existing Zelda 3 mods don't wanna deal with this we could create a Link to the Past Co-op Extensions game and I could volunteer to moderate.

The category would need to support (require) multiple players listed, like the super metroid coop category https://www.speedrun.com/super_metroid_category_extensions#Co-op I recommend against a blue balls column cuz idk how you'd count that (combined blue balls?)

My proposed category rules are:

  • 2 players required.
  • Video of all players must be included, either by linking all videos or posting a combined video.
  • Same rules as vanilla any% (no major glitches, no s+q). Rules about visible FPS, visible controller mappings, and starting from reset are suspended (but RAM preparation is still banned).
  • Either use snes9x-coop ( https://mcclure.github.io/emu-coop/ ) or snes9x-rr 1.54. Use coop mode guid f003df87-0c3b-4b3b-86c8-d0deef93e6ec. With other emulators or coop modes, the emulator and mode guid must be visible in the description or video. Additional memory manipulation is banned.
  • Time begins when the first player file selects and ends once both players have entered the triforce room.

I suggest cutting the rules about FPS/inputs because these are designed to protect console hardware players from emulator users but there is currently no way to play LTTP coop on a console. I suggest cutting the rule about starting from reset because coop mode involves additional setup/connection steps and including them in the video would be very inconvenient (also none of my runs include it lol). If this category ever becomes SERIOUS some of these rules could be reinstituted but this seems like just a silly fun category.

The guid requirement is easy because starting with emu-coop 1.0.2 displaying the mode guid in the video will become automatic.

I might come back later to request additional LTTP Co-op categories (in particular 3-player once the software supports it). Also I'm talking to the Zelda 1 coop community and might come back with a similar suggestion for Zelda 1. (But maybe the only Zelda 1 coop runs anyone is doing are randomizer).

Yes, I would like to be regular mod instead of verifier to fix the mistakes.

@mcc You should ask this in the games forum, probably the category extension one first

If they don't want to add it as a category you can request it here so its a own game (as long as its a Zelda game!): https://www.speedrun.com/zelda/thread/r7lk5

I have the current WR for Metro: Last Light Redux Any % and I want to be a moderator. Because 2 of the moderators are inactive and the other 2 doesn't log in very often.

Chimpaneez is active indeed... That's one of the reasons he was added onto Last Light Redux, and Duane can get on whenever he gets a pm about anything, other than that I'm pretty sure Chimpaneez has that on lock or just ask him rather than asking in a last resort thread

Streamkosch: Small board with inactive mod and you have a run, ok.

TMCBubbles: It looks like you were added.

EB_OP: The game has 2 active mods. Discuss it with the mods.

SkyKirito123: The user was online recently and I don't see a run by you.

muskn: Pending run and user inactive, ok.

ChanceCossitt: The user is active, discuss it with the moderator.

SpeedMartyr: One of the moderators is active, I bumped them up to a super mod.

jackgamer: I'd recommend doing more runs and getting a better understanding of how the site works before moderating things.

ClumsyNoname: Category requests go through the specific game's forums/moderators.

Capndrake: Reviewed this a bit, if that's mod consensus and since he has verified a run in quite a while, it seems fine.

Milength: I'll just bump you up to a regular mod.

XNicKX: Mod is somewhat inactive, but you need a run pending or linked here.

Elmotus: Since you have a bunch of runs pending for various categories and the mods are somewhat inactive, I added you.

OmniferousSwan: The video seems messed up at a glance. It's possible there were recording issues and it was on an earlier patch or something done like that. It's strange enough that I'd tend to agree with you.

CreepyGar: The mods were online recently and it looks like your runs were approved.

Tedious: I think one of the other site staff handled this. I'm not aware of the details, but it would appear it was deleted and re-added with presumably other moderators.

GamplingFrog: General guideline is 3 weeks. Also just because someone logged into the site it doesn't mean they have to verify every run every time they log in. People have lives.

SLCRG: I added someone else who had asked in the forums who had a run on the board and you as a regular moderator.

Jesse_Lee_Porter: Modding multiple of the games, ok

Askover: The communities for bigger games generally want well known community members moderating them. Moderation additions are usually done by the community, this thread is a last resort.

420Red_: The moderator is highly active, discuss it with them.

OmniferousSwan: I check the thread weekly. Some of the more on-fire issues are sometimes handled by other staff in between.

mcc: In general something like this would probably be better discussed/requested by the existing community/moderators for the original games and associated category extensions.

havoc: Two or the users are relatively active, please discuss it with them.

Hello, I am wondering if you could add in Mega Man Dr. Wily's Revenge on? It is a childhood favourite and I would love to see people posting times on the game page. I also want to start running this & Posting it on the leaderboards. It would be a great add on to the Mega Man Speedrunning scene. The Things that could be seen on the page would be 100%, Any%, Cut Man%. Stuff like that. I really hope you consider this game. Thanks, - Sincerely RT_1.

EDIT: The moderator logged on, you can ignore this post.

@kirkq I would have submitted a run if the category Any% was available. But in any case, I have my latest PB on Youtube so here it is:

Hey, I got removed as a moderator from a game I'm running (Pinkman). What's up with that, is this because of inactivity or because the other guy is an asshole?
