I;m asking seeing as theres any% (no cheats), then just any% which accepts cheats. I would have done any% and cheat%, but idk, maybe you unlock cheats through the game, like Goldeneye.
Other than graphical. Did'int even know this was on Gamecube, or PC at all.
I doubt that this will actually become a category, but am wondering about that. I did a medeocore run with LiveSplits which I usually don't use as there tends to be a delay with the key press only on starting and ending the time. Did this on new engine btw.
For those insane enough to try a 100% run, this guide will be useful. Though not made by me, I found it online, and it's useful for routing a 100% run. This is specifically for the GBA version only.

I see that the level leaderboard only has stages for the typical console ports, and not the DS version, and was wondering if the leaderboard could be updated with the category for the DS stages since there unique to the others.
Even though the original version of The Invasion episode is mainly just an older version of The Invasion 2, and made before those more advanced features were added in SMBX, it'd still be cool to see as a category in the full game leaderboard.
I'm wondering as the PSP port of LIJ is the same as the other console ports excluding DS, and am not fully sure if I could post a run on the any% category. The other thing is I'm wondering if I could do an emulator run of the PSP version as I don't yet have a PSP console, but do have an emulator that can play the game at a consistent 60fps through the game.
The only differences I know of so far other than the way the game saves to the memory card, is when in the game I can't find a way to have the other player join once starting the game. The 2nd player icon, and info is'int there from what I remembered.
I'm wondering if for the IL runs if it matters whether you're in Free Play or Story, and also the rules for ILs in general as none are defined for ILs, or the game at all.
This stage is super short, so the tips for running this game on this stage will be short.

When fighting Darth Vader fight him with your back facing the wall if you suck at dodging his attack so when you get flung back you won't travel nearly as much. The fight against Darth Vader will end once his health is half way down.
-
When you're going to fight Count Dooku do this trick where you keep attacking while going forward and back through his body. Since the GBA port does'int have collisions when anyone collides with anyone else, which is opposite of most other versions, you can go through him and be on the other side of him when he does his attack, which wastes less time. Also your health will restore once this part happens, at least on my copy.
Here is a link to the patch if you don't know where to find it. This is only the patch, and not the NSMB rom, that would be illegal. https://nsmbhd.net/thread/3587-nsmb-shift-land-mini-hack/
Keep in mind this is less of a walkthrough, and more highlighting various parts that maybe harder to remember than others. The dialog order is numbered on the order of the text option from top to bottom on the message box. For example if it says to goto 2, you would go to the 2nd option in that order. I learned this from a speedrun of Waxworks, another click and go adventure game on PC where the runner used notes for the dialog for what to say next while in dialog, and he had it ordered the same way as me. They'll always end on the very bottom dialog option that will quit the conversation.
Example of dialog order (the numbers is'int there in the real game. example order: 1, 3, 2.

After you give the cheeze to Jimmy: Max, 3, Sam, 4, Max, 4.
Visiting Bosco's for first time (you'll catch Weezer first): 1, 3, 4
Buying weapon from Bosco's (after shooting car on highway): 1, 1, 1
Sybil (after the soda poppers chase once you get the paper from the asylum); Ink blots: 1, 3, 2, 1, 4
Free Association: Click the Tiki, use the boxing glove on Sybil, click the tiki or intercom (don't think it matters).
Dream: turn the person into Max (3), then turn doughnut box to birthday cake (1). Use window to leave as it's right there.
Hypnotized at Bosco's: Click cheese, now you're in the other dream. Use light switch, go under Max's head, shoot one way sign, use head on Max's body. Click on antenna, open closet door, use pump on mouse when he's at the pump.
Goto sybil for blue print, get antenna from the office, give blue print to Bosco, and then antenna.
End Fight (Once the dialog box goes away, click soda poppers again, and continue where you left off on the order): 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 1
I noticed how the 3DS port is'int up on this game, and was wondering if it could be added. You can still buy it on the eShop.
Because of how the demo for Season 1 only contains a part of Episode 1. The XBLA demo lasts until just before the Soda Poppers chase segment. The PC demo on the other hand only lasts for the first puzzle, and ends when you leave the office. I have ran both of those, and maybe up on this game soon.
I'm requesting the ILs for each Floating Block and Spongeball token be added as no where on the game, or the category extensions does it have these tokens as individual. Maybe also the same treatment with the bungee, and arenas, but I don't care that much for those. Here's a video from 2017 I did of me running all the Floating Block Challenges in this game. Keep in mind it was captured on a cheep $5 Ez capture stick thing that sucks, and was before I upgraded.
I'm asking as there are no runs of this category on mobile, and I don't have the game on mobile yet so I'm not familiar with that port.
//Update: I'm a mod on this category now, and have fixed this. As in if you click on Tour you would then click Easy, Normal, Hard, or Expert like in the Guitar Hero World Tour leaderboards. I feel this way as in Rock Band Easy mode has less songs than Normal, Hard, or Expert, and would be unfair if a runner would be to run the game on Hard, and have to do those extra songs not in the Easy tour mode.
If you still don't know what I mean, here's a link to the Guitar Hero World Tour leaderboards. https://www.speedrun.com/ghwt
Hi, I was wanting to make a request to have another game in the series be put on the site as I have made a speedrun on Season 2 Episode 2 of Sam & Max, but the mods of this site have told me to ask the moderator of the series to add it.
I'm curious as the 1st and only run here says theres new strats to have it be faster. What are there strats? Also I'm curious if anyones going to try that HD remake that's on steam. It's in early access, and is cool that it exists in 2020! You can get it now.
I know it's written like crap, but might help you.
Speedy version: 1-2, 1-3 WARP, 1-3X, 1-7, 1-8, 1-9, 1-17, 1-18, 1-17X, End.
You can start on 1-1 if you want, but I feel like starting on 1-2 is quicker. On 1-2 get the bandage, and on 1-3 enter the warp zone. Once there you will get the bandages in this warp zone. After you completed the zone, go the the dark world of 1-3 and get the bandage. Then 1-7 through 1-9 on light. Then 1-11, 1-12, 1-13, then go to 1-17, 1-18, then dark 1-17 and you should be done.
How about a 100% or all easter eggs run where you have to go and find all the easter eggs in the game ether as it's own, or as part of beating the game 100%. This should be done on Steam with an account with no achevments for Ather gotten for it that has to do with achevments, and you can see if You've 100%'ed a game on the Basement collection menu if there is a black star above the game.
