Attempting some E2M6 runs, but since I'm horrible at Bhops and powerhops I've opted to go for the ancient art of the Fiend Hop.
One problem: when I do it I either get hit and jump like normal, die, get scritched, or if lucky I get propelled at great force, but despite hitting jump at what I guess is the right time my player instead just bonking something, and going much lower than intended.
IK what you all are saying "just practice bhops", well I'd like to learn this in the mean time (cuz fuck that slooooow lift). Plus, it'd be a cool LAN party trick!
BTW I know that if I'm doing a full EP run that I could rocket/grenade boost myself over there, buuut I'm practicing the ILs for now to memorize them.
Here's a download from Mario Fan Games Galaxy (IDK which version it is, but will assume it's the latest one since the date says 2019): https://www.mfgg.net/?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35172
Heard about SNES Doom being re-released on a physical cartridge by Limited Run Games sometime within the next 200 years?
Well seeing how they plan to add a new EP not in the OG, along with some mechanic changes and I think less lag (don't quote me on that), should the LGR release of the game be put in a sub-category, or just a new game?
I'm really wanting to try this new Doom SNES release out to compare to the og, but LRG is slooow with even having a placeholder page up like with that Gex collection (which after ~6 months still has not been updated with any progress)
I've been curious to if a run done with that Bleemcast disc for Dreamcast that lets you play MGS1 on the console would be accepted since it's technically running on an early emulator.
I might make "Mouse Wheel" category become this game's "Fast Click" category like how it is on Cookie Clicker due to very similar rules.
Tell me your thoughts...me....yeah I'm the only one here...MySpace guy moment
Would the version included on Midway Arcade Origins for Xbox 360, and PS3 be fine? It's the Midway compilation I own that has this game on it.
I know that Bejeweled was on Xbox Live (the original original Xbox Live, not that Xbox 360 thing), and was wondering if a category for that version could be added if someone were to run it like how Bejeweled 2 & 3 has it's console versions on the leaderboards.
Update: Just did some speedruns and posted the best time. More context in the video description. BTW it's posted on my 2nd channel which is where I currently post my actual speedruns.
Older one:
For those who want to run the game, and avoid the video being blocked, I've made a list of songs that should maybe in theory (as of 5/31/2024) be fine to leave un-muted (in the US at least).
This was from a report of my 100% speedrun of the game I did on the Wii version back on the 27th of May. Am posting the run again, but without audio (still have the version with audio if needed, tho it's pretty massive).
The list below is not in any specific order at all.
==List==
Feel The Pain - Dinosaur Jr.
La Bamba
Kick Out The Jams
You're Gonna Say Yeah - Hushpuppies
Rambling Man
Pretty Vacant
Some Might Say - Oasis
Overkill - Moterhead
Trapped Under Ice - Metallica
Toy Boy - Stuck in the Sound
Hey Man, Nice Shot
Soul Doubt
On The Road Again
Other than being able to use the ir sensor to aim wherever instead of use of a stick, are there any major things different in running the any% on PS2 instead of Wii? Mainly thinking like bugs, or exploits.
Only version of this game I have is the PS2 version BTW.
Since Green Grass & High Tides is only FC'able in the PAL region/50hz versions of RB1, and many of us don't have the ability to use the 50hz version to FC the song, was thinking of splitting the FGFC section into two.
One which is for every song that can be FC'ed on a NTST/60hz release (aka all them but GGAHT), and another for those with a European copy that can FC this trifficult song.
Decided to ask on here first before I go and make the change to avoid annoyed peoples.
I heard the soon to come online multiplayer update will add new achievements, does this mean that the deadgod% category would have to be updated to add these new achievements, or will there be an option to use a file that auto-unlocks them like how the daily run achievements are handled. I also ask this since I noticed the rules say that co-op can't be used at all.
I noticed no option to have a run use a set seed, or a random seed like many other random games that has seeds like Minecraft, or SM64 randomizer and was wondering if this could be considered an option, or if most people simply use a set seed.
While grinding more IL runs of the map pack I noticed that the conveyers will completely stop you if you hit it from under one facing up at the right angle. Have no idea if this could be useful in runs (highly doubt it). Something I do think would be good for runs is another I just found where you can store the momentum of a conveyer if you quit a level while on it, and quickly enter another. I'm playing the game through the standalone Flash Player EXE via the version from The Basement Collection.
I've had this idea for a while to do an any% run of this game but on the Wii's official internet browser channel and was wondering if this would be fine on the leaderboards. This will likely be a one off type thing as it takes a while to setup because of the app's slow speeds. I remember the browser uses a version of Opera with it's Flash version being a lite version of the main one (don't remember the exact release number).
Was wondering if any chance of an Any% category that only allows the Alt glitch which lets you clip through walls by exploiting the game freezing when using the alt key (or holding the title bar with a mouse click) would be here as a new category. I think this could have interesting strategies for faster times, mainly on stages where a wall blocks you from getting to the end without going around. This would also make it so people can run the game with this major glitch without having to be restricted by the major glitches category which has a steep entry level for learning.
As in a run of the game on a new save file going through the episodes from start to end without use of a NG+.
Asking since I've been planning and practicing a run of the 2015 Raw Thrills Jurassic Park arcade game, and also the Jurassic Park III arcade game from Konami. BTW I plan to do both of the runs on real arcade hardware and in fact have been practicing the Raw Thrills game on a real machine since I know where the nearest arcades with both games are (and how the Raw Thrills game is super common rn).
Should there be both with load times, and without load times on the leaderboard? Since load times (on PC at least) depends based on if you're playing on a HDD or an SSD. Also since on consoles you can ether play it off the disc, or from a digital copy depending on where you got the game from.
There not on the leader board as far as I see. Same with MiSter, but shouldn't the MiSter count as emulation since that's what it does?
