You might want to check out this thread, since it's the main spot for people to advertise their speedgames in.
However, in the event you want something more tailored to your tastes, we'd need to know more about what exactly you're looking for:
- What genre of games would you be interested in?
- How long would you like the run to be?
- Are you looking for unoptimized games with potential to find new strats, or would you prefer a game with a lot of top-level competition?
- What platforms do you have at your disposal?
- Are you looking for free games or do you have a budget?
Please read this thread: https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/6tgel Then proceed to go here: https://www.speedrun.com/mc/forum
PS: Given that there's a discord server for Minecraft Java Edition, you might want to go directly there to show this to other runners.
just go to your run, click the three dots below the video, and press delete
@Funguy161 Unfortunately, only accounts that are 7+ days old can delete runs for some reason, so he'll be unable to do that for the time being.
@DrDoppelkorn Given that you can't currently delete it yourself, your best bet is to either notify one of the mods through one of their social contacts (given that you also can't send them a DM through the site for the same reason) or just wait until you can delete it yourself.
Great! So now we know which of the two is the correct version. All we need now is for the rules list on the Support Hub page to get updated :)
2 - PVP games are being accepted now. You probably requested a PVP game when PVP games weren’t allowed on the site. It means “for now” in most cases.
As far as I can tell, that's not the case (or at least it doesn't say so in the rules shown through the Support Hub when requesting a new game):
EDIT: After further investigation, I've discovered that the standalone page for the Game Request rules lists different rules than the ones shown when you request a new game through the Support Hub, with the PVP rule being one of the differing ones.
I understand we want to keep the Support Hub version as short as possible, but making them be coherent with one another is just as important (if not more).
Also, if you want to see if he stole a run, check if his time is tied with anybody.
While this could possibly help in case he actually stole it from someone on the leaderboard, it's not definitive proof that they're not stolen at this point. Not everyone submits their times to speedrun.com, so he could very well have stolen other unsubmitted runs from youtube.
You might think that this is a bit overboard and maybe overthinking it, but he did break a leaderboard's trust, so I'm afraid in this case extra precautions are warranted.
More recommendations:
- PS1/PSX
- mednafen
- RetroArch (Beetle/Beetle HW cores)
- BizHawk v2.4.2/v2.5.2 onwards (though it has TAS capabilities, so bear in mind)
- DuckStation
- ePSXe v1.9.0 (this emulator in particular is kinda outdated, but most games still accept it)
Basically, the old Bot Deletion Thread got locked and now we have to report bots through the Support Hub.
That being said, @Merl_ also extended us an invitation to a Bot Deletion discord in this thread, given that there was quite the community around reporting bots. A few of the site mods are in that discord, so it's genuinely an alternative way for some bots to get the boot :)
Please refer questions related to Bedrock Edition to their leaderboard forum, as this is a general forum for the site and as such most people here won't have the faintest idea what that particular game's policy is towards that issue.
Having the option to link your Roblox account would be pretty weird if it's the only game that you can link your SRC profile to. Why not also have games like Minecraft that you can link your SRC profile to in that case?
The thing with Roblox in particular is that it's not a singular game, but rather a framework that people use to build their games upon, so it's extensive to a lot of games, like a network.
If a user doesn't fill out literally all of their socials (which is highly unlikely), they'd still have their socials in a weird shape.
Furthermore, adding those socials would only form a perfect square in the event the hidden socials are filled too, which includes a duplicate for spotify, so it's really an exercise in futility at this point.
PS: That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing those socials being added, since I figure they'd be relatively common for a large amount of users and they are actually related to gaming unlike some of the current ones.
@Oreo321 The bell does show the last 10 notifications you have when you have 0 unread notifications. However, for some reason unread notifications don't share this cap, so literally all unread notifications are shown on the bell. I could verify this much myself when I had 654 unread notifications a while back.
...and yes, I did count them all (it says there's 655 because it's also counting the header, but there's 654 notifications total):
I did report it through the Support Hub back then since I don't think it's desirable behavior for the bell, but I don't know whether it's been fixed or not (which is why I added the word "potentially" into the mix).
- Notifications load whenever you open any page on the site and not when you open the Notifications Bell.
- While read notifications have a maximum cap inside the bell, this does not seem to be the case for unread notifications.
...so are those 14k notifications unread? Because if they are, they could be potentially loading every single time you open a new page, possibly hindering your experience with the site.
