Oh alright, if there is anything that would warrant a category update, please let me know. Nothing really seemed like it was worth making a new category over, but I might have missed something.
Hm, could you either point to where in the patch notes it says this or provide evidence of the speed change? Couldn't really find anything about this
Warning: Top 3 runs should show evidence of random seed generation. As this is a lesser run category, this run is verified.
Short answer is to fill out the application form found in the news post.
Longer answer is that you'd need to be well established within the speedrunning community of the particular game(s) you wish to verify for, have runs submitted in the particular game, and/or have previous verifying experience. Not every thing listed here is necessary to become a verifier, although meeting two or more of the above requirements will generally help your chances.
People are bad at math so starting the timer on 1:22.12 simplifies things. The way timing works is dumb though imo. Time should stop when the cutscene ends (according to the rules), however, some people pause, open their inventory, or end their recording before the cutscene ends and that isn't ever taken into account as we just add 1:22.12 to the time. The rules should definitely be amended as the time addition isn't mentioned anywhere in the rules. I wasn't around when these rules were added though, so I've got no clue what the discussions were like back then. Forx or Multi probably have the best answers for you.
A couple issues on the verifier/mod side.
I was hoping with the change to variables that you could select which categories the variables applied to instead of only having the option to apply them to all categories or to a singular category. I think having a checkbox to select which categories a variable applies to would be extremely helpful.
Verifiers no longer have the ability to edit runs, which is a major issue as like 80% of runs have something incorrectly input. So we'll have to make all verifiers mods atm. It was a helpful distinction but now a verifier is pretty much useless.
@C_O_O_K_I_E @n0kitsune Nah, you can just any of the cubes in the back and it'll work. All that matters for hsh is if the wire gets wrapped around the door a couple times.
Alright, thank you! I didn't make the categories myself, so I'll go ahead and at that to the rules.
You are correct:
I just used the 1/108 per card because it's the odds you're most likely to have in a speedrun.
Taking longer than 30 seconds is quite normal for omni. Omni is a ~1/108 per card. The strat I recommend beginner runners do is to grab the extra card in the infinite hallway, as shown in the video here:
This will bring the chances of getting an omni to around a 1/36 per load.
This should be for the December 14th update: download_depot 1961460 1961461 907949319910492752
If you want to find the manifest IDs in the future, you can find them here: https://steamdb.info/depot/1961461/history/
To be eligible for Any%, the run must do an Any% skip (BHS, RHS, or catwalk skip)
Are you on Windows? If you're not on Windows, the manifest ID might be different.
I checked and the command works fine. I'm guessing you input the command incorrectly. Copy-paste this command into the console: download_depot 1817490 1817491 3472064775658982753
@August23 Very late response, but this video shows how: You go to one of the earlier vents on the conveyor once you get back control and fall off. This loads you into the area of factory with the void killbox.

Make sure to have current combination checked. Load into a game if the current combination thing isn't popping up.
