I just went to practice Loader for fun and I noticed that her pylon really shoots out fast, REALLY fast. I was able to get crazy momentum by grappling onto it. I know that pylon grappling isn't a huge deal, but the difference the speed makes when you have no items is crazy, and about the new Loader Thunderslam ability. I don't know how good it is, but when I was testing it I felt like it was pretty handy being able to just get to ground level fast. Anyway, I just think that once everyone starts doing the perfect strategy every time and the wr gets to a point where every hundredth second counts, this new pylon could be better than what the game had before, or I could just be crazy and it's only just saving like half a second on the first stage, I haven't tried a run with the new ability or the pylon yet.
The new pylon is better yeah, but the moon overall is slower due to the part where you have to defend the ship at the end. If there is a way to skip that then the current version would be faster i think
Yeah. I'm genuinely pretty sad about the new moon from a speedrunning perspective. But it'll all work out.
Hi, I’m new to Risk of Rain speed running. Are the current records going to be archived given all the changes in the recent update? It looks like that might have happened once already around the 1.0 release.
Seeing as most everyone was for this change, the Gauntlet category will now accept runs performed on an unmodded version of the game. Using the mods is still allowed, with the Fogbound Lagoon stage now being optional - allowed, but not required.
Vanilla runs still submit their IGT from the results
