Pokémon Red/Blue Forum  /  Nido RNG issue

I keep attempting the Nidoran manipulation and I always get a level 2 nidoran on the first tile to the right of the first point in which you enter the grass. It's happening consistently so I'm doing something to make a different nidoran appear and I can't figure out what. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The best way for us to help you is to see a video of you doing the manip with an imput displayer.

Depending on the mistake the input viewer may not even be needed, although I’m assuming you’re doing the 7 A press method which means an input viewer would most definitely help.

I'm using the input recommended in the beginners guide which uses an input video that dabombstew made for the "level 4 god nido" I counted 9 times back and forth then back into the grass on the second tile up and then right and back and forth twice. However when I perform it after I go into the grass the tile immediately to the right creates a level 2 nido, consistently. I'll try to create a video. Sorry, I'm new to this, just learned the blue glitch run about a week ago. What setup would you recommend to record my video/inputs?

Don't you forget the A press at 0:22 ?

Otherwise a beginner friendly free set-up for record is OBS + Nohboard

I agree with Shirokami_cusp. when I use to do this manip I would get an early lvl 2 nido if I messed up the A press.

Wow, I didn't notice the A press at all, thanks, I'll give it another go and let you know.

I think I did it right, what should his stats be at level 4?
Mine is L4
18 HP
10 ATK
9 Def
10 Speed
9 Special

I think that’s right, but to be honest here the 7 A press one while may sound and appear intimidating is super easy and a quick manipulation to do. I recommend that over the one in the guide.

SquareRootofSheepSquareRootofSheep likes this.

Bear in mind I don’t run Glitchless very much and don’t have the stats all memorized like I once did.

Seems good, just be sure your lvl 9 stats are 29/18/15/16/15 and you're ready to go.

lvl 10 stats are 32, 19, 16, 18,16....I didn't get a chance to see level 9 stats before I saw your comment.

It's a god nido, if you want to make sure yourself you can download pokemon red helper (link in ressources)

Thank you so much for your help guys, you're always awesome with this stuff!

As a post followup, followup, that nido got me through the entire run quite well! God or not, it worked fine.

Please help. I have the same problem. 100% hitting the A at 22 seconds. I've been doing this for around four hours. I've hit a. No bonks. I know my buffers are good. I've tried hitting a on the tile before. The tile after. Holdong for more than one tile. downloading a different rom. Changing emulators (using gambatte primarily). I've even tried emulating on my phone with myboy. I have tried... everything I can think of.... I've got nothing.

Make a video with input display.
