I have always wanted to do a speedrun but I really dont have a reliable cheap way to capture my DS screen and I now have practised quite a lot on Desmume. I wanna know if its okay to use Desmume for an official speedrun and if I can what are the settings supposed to be for the run to be valid.
should be clarified in the rules ... You can do it if you follow the instructions and the run will be set to invisble by default cause of the reasons spelt out in the rules. You can turn emulators visbility on at the leaderboard.

The emulator will always run faster, which is why it is hidden by default. The rules never specify any settings for the emulator. So I think you are good to go, but you can contact one of the mods if you want to be sure.
