Does a run have to have splits to be verified? Also I have to record my runs with my phone, so could I use a Tablet as a timer? I would record the TV and the Tablet while it's timing if that's allowed. Sorry if these are obvious questions, I'm fairly new to speedrun.com.

World record doesn't have it, so no, there's no requirement to add splits. It's just nice to have.

Generally a video alone is enough, but yeah having a timer on your tablet is just fine. Recording with your phone is fine, too.
