Me and my cousin were speedrunning any% Multiplayer and after the run we took a look on the leaderboards and saw that the top players are just using 1 controller and someone who clicks a few times on the gamepad. i don't consider this method as "Multiplayer" so it would be nice if there were "any%+gamepad" and an actual "any% Multiplayer" category. The 1P + gamepad method makes no sense for me to call it Multiplayer because it's just one player actually playing the game
That is because the category was formerly known as "Any% Boost Mode" which is basically Any% that allows the use of boost mode with boost blocks. I've come very close multiple times to remove the category as a whole because I don't see how it differs much from the regular Any% run.
I would be in favor of having an actual co-op category but I'll see what other people say about that.
a variable category might be a solution for that. Like that https://prnt.sc/264btis ofc the category is not popular, but it solves the problem (idk how to set it up bc I never changed something on a leaderboard)
We'll likely create a sub-category that keeps any% multiplayer, but also adds a new tab that allows Boost mode. Now the question is... do you guys want to add extra rules to any% Multiplayer like... "that one player cant stay for all the time in the bubble" Personally I think it would be boring if only one person stays 24/7 in the bubble. Ofc there is some pro and con to it. Like "bubbling is an in-game feature" but also "one player is doing all of the work"
A cooldown would be a good idea I think. Like one person only can stay for 15 or 20 IGTs (ingame-seconds) in the bubble at max
what do you think?
Doesnt boost mode allow for skipping autoscroller in 7-airship and also significant timesave in 5-t and making 7-t easier and of course elevator
I also think you could make small timesaves in 1-2 5-3 7-1 7-3 and 8-c
Its less about it not being different and more about it being unfun and its hard to get a second person or to do it by yourself
