[OLD] Explanation of manual retiming
Updated 1 year ago by wortex

This was written by a former NFSR moderator

• The retiming process is via manual frame-by-frame video analysis as no automatic load removers exist. Please have patience for verification of submissions below the cutoff.
• Only actual loading screens (specifically: 1, 2) or black frames between two loads are removed.
• The first loading screen before the boot cutscene when restarting the game does not count as a load.
• Video frames missing during loads (due to drops, etc.) are handled as follows:

  • starting in and extending past the end: last moving frame inside the load is the end of the load.
  • starting before and into, but not extending past the end: first frame of the load is the start of the load.
  • skipping over an entire load: entire load is not removed.

Manual retimes are handled by the game moderators, this "guide" is just for informational purposes. Unless you want to do this for your own information, do not retime submitted runs, as a moderator will always have to re-do the same thing to verify your time, i.e. it's a waste of time for you to retime your own runs.
