Hello everyone,
as one of the old school players, who was active in the game in the early 2000s when the hype was big, I've noticed some uploades times here were claimed as WR's, but they are far away from it. For example, the verified WR in Outdoor on PC is 1:30:64, as you can see here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070818122921/http://moorhuhn-kart.bild.t-online.de/highscore2.php?track=1
This is the old online Highscore list, which was closed around the late 2000s, and the latest screenshot from Web Archive. Personally, I saw a 1:30:60 in a local highscore list which was not uploaded to the leaderboards (I think there was also a reset of the online highscores, maybe that is the reason), and I saw a 1:30:70 live from the player named "Lexx" in the highscore list. He was also playing as "spider7" (where I get my nickname from) and "SebastianZ". My personal best also was a 1:31:1x around that time, but there is no video proof or something left.
In general the moorhuhn speedrun / highscore community was way ahead of there time, cause the structure and events are very close comparable with what happening in many other speedrunning communities today. I think we should respect the highscore achived in the 2000s and refer to what we can see in the internet archive today about that time. Sadly most of all great achivements of that time are not video proofed, but as a participant in the glorious era of Moorhuhn I can tell you something was out of the world compared to what we see today.
So, let's push together to bring the true WRs to the modern era. Feel free to ask If you need more information about it or just wanna hear something about the good old times :-)
You can also find the webpages for the other games like Moorhuhn Kart 2 in the archive. I posted a link in Moorhuhn Kart 2 Forum 2 days ago. What a coincidence or not? At least I could claim the world record there. Unfortunately there is not a lot left from the highscore in this game. A lot of the videos you can find claim to be world record while they are not even close like the old web page clearly shows. I remember I also uploaded a few karts to Moorhuhn Kart 2 back in the day although I sucked at the game back then.
Real. I started playing Moorhuhn Kart (Classic) in 2011 so the servers were already down i guess. Idk
