The problem of the quarter circles...

I don't think anyone will see this soon but at least, if there are some new info it should be usefull for anyone who want to run this game. I had noticed this already back on the Game Gear, the quarter circles forward are definitely somehow different than SFII and other fighting games. I may be wrong but it seems that the correct inputs are : "down - forward", without passing by the diagonal.

Sometimes I perform my quarter circles quite well, at a rate of 70-80%, and other times I fail maybe 5 times in a row to just make one. I don't get it here. This is the main reason why I am still around 14min today.

Can we have more precision here ? for example, should I press my button exactely in the same time as the forward input or shall I do it just slightly after ?

I just started running the regular power rangers GG game, and you're dead on- it's a mortal kombat style down, forward rather than a act input. In a few of my vods it's really obvious, you can see the character crouch then attack (I'm pretty slow on my inputs sometimes). I'm at an event this weekend and have a ton of school work to do, but I'd be happy to play around with some TAS tools to see what the frame windows are on the inputs to do special moves. Once I have more free time, anyways.

Thank you ! So instead of doing a sliding continuous movement with my thumb, from down to forward, I should take my time and just press separately down and then forward ?

Definitely. I was getting a lot of bad inputs when I was sliding from down to forward (not doing the special, jumping on accident). Taking the time to do discrete presses works so much better.

And one more question....WHY don't you speedrun also the 2nd game ? I saw you are dominating the leaderboard of the 1st game.

I have a run in the 14 minute range that I didn't feel like uploading. I'm almost done with school, then this game is one of the top ones on my list to work on. The top times on this one seem pretty competitive, it'll be fun to work on this one soon.

In less than 2 days, I just got it in 12:08 ;) I will put some animation in this leaderboard

Thanks to your advice, I have reduced my time quickly from 13:25 to 12:08

Awesome! That's exciting. That is quite the solid improvement. Happy I could help.
