I may be getting ahead of myself here, but 1.16.200 is out now, and I want to do some speedrunning in it. I don't see a category for it yet. Is it coming out soon? I'm probably rushing it, but I don't know the normal time frame for new categories for new versions to be made.

Im pretty sure there will be no extra category for 200 as with any other version of minecraft

Ok, thanks. In new to speedrun.com, and since there was a new category for .100 I didn’t know if there would be a category for .200. So does this mean any new run should be entered in in the .100 category?

On default, yes, all runs are on the same leaderboard. But there is a version filter to only show runs on a specific version. 1.16.100 is one of those filters.

there should be a pre 1.16, 1.16 and 1.17+ split (doesnt mean it will be added, just my opinion that i didnt discuss with anyone lol)

What will 1.17 add to speedrunning though?

We might add a 1.16.100+ split instead of 1.17+

The .200 update does have a filter, it’s the very last one in the list. I think a good filter would be .100+ For sure. If there’s not enough for a new leader board

I think that a split for 1.16.100 is probably a good option because of pearls

if the mods would want to do a version split it would probably be 1.16 - pre 1.16.100 and 1.16.100+
or pre 1.16 1.16 - pre 1.16.100 and 1.16.100+

idk though, cause 1.16-pre1.16.100 would be kinda an impossible category for some consle players

I agree with Khalooody, I also want Pre 1.16, 1.16, and 1.16.100+ unless 1.17 changes a ton of stuff. The previous versions are very different on terms of speedrunning
