I watched through a bit of the run i noticed some cuts in the video and also saw some of the video was corupted i belive this run is fake it may just be bad recording or he's doing all he can to cover his tracks im regarding to the WR of consle set seed glitchless done on xbox by barthwageaar.of course i could be wrong but i suggest multiple mods check his run for any evidence.

also he said his run would probably not be submitted which he thinks that because of the video or because people would notice the run looked spliced

they've checked, thats legit

nah we already sorted this out, twitch cut the clip from lag a few times and if you noticed, was 7:45. However, he had his own timer which was 8:48 and was honest enough to change it to the real time .

ok just a precaution because if it were spliced it could be unbeatable and no one wants that

kinda stupid though how twitch highlights can cut a whole minute.... they're not suitable for submitting, as retiming can be severely off and if a player wasn't honest enough to provide a real time, runs could be let in with the wrong times.

I'd beg to differ. I'd admit I'm biased as I've always been a big proponent of the honor system, but if you have a video of basically the whole run showing off your skill and ability, and the claimed time is reasonable considering the evidence provided, its likely to be legit.

Despite what 2 players and Apollo Legend would make you think, the majority of speedrunners arent trying to fake every run Kappa

But in this case, you verified a run that was almost a minute faster on the twitch highlight. For an 8 minute run having a whole minute cut throughout isn't okay. Because he didn't show a timer, we had to go by honesty with his real time. The problem is if more runs get submitted with glitchy twitch highlights and they submit going by the video time and not rta which we don't know about.

I wasn’t even gonna sumbit this run because I didn’t think it would get verified because of all of the glitches twitch had with the past broadcast. Later, however, I thought that I should do it just in case it did get verified. I’m glad it did, but highly didn’t expect it too. If the time for the recording was over the actual time I got. I wouldn’t have even tried to submit it, but it was a whole minute lower than the actual time I got. Also, somehow, even with that many glitches with the recording, it doesn’t even look like it cuts out a whole minute of the run.

If your 8:48 time is legit then all the cuts throughout the video must have added up to a minute which is pretty shocking tbh, obviously not your fault though.

It was instead (if I'm remembering the run correctly) many small cuts through out the highlight meaning that the gameplay itself is for a large part, very visible and in my opinion I think the video was a good enough demonstration of his skill, and enough proof that the run was legit.

yes but that means they aren't retimable and we have to go by honesty..

That is true, but from the experience I've gained over the past few years, I've learnt that honesty is actually pretty reliable when it comes to speedrunning. Not to mention that if memory serves me right, Barthwageaar actually corrected the time I originally put on his run with an even slower time.

If anything is to be learned it is to make sure that you save your video locally while streaming? That has to be an option, no?

Or put it to YouTube with evidence of the entire video, plus previous attempts, like players such as Kosmic do.
If anything is to be learned it is to make sure that you save your video locally while streaming? That has to be an option, no?
Local recording is optimal of course, as Twitch is not really the most reliable site, however I don't think we should make people do both.
