Kitchen Clips (The SaiFly)

Important notes: standing or crouching has a minimal effect on the clip so don't worry about it. Jumping too much before you're fully clipped will result in clipping to the wrong side. My sprint button is bound to mouse button 4 so you can see where I start walking based on when the stamina meter freezes. Turning off Vsync might help with consistency as well.

Kitchen: Tip for the starting chase: by walking under the table you regenerate some stamina and also makes sure that the chef won't just go after you right away.

  1. Position yourself 2 tiles left and down from bottom left corner of the green tile rectangle.
  2. The old way to determine when to start sprinting right is when the chef is about to do a step for the second visible time. The new way is to start when the chef's middle is aligned with the left of the white cabinet in the background, as this does not rely on the chef doing a specific pathfinding route.
  3. Go up+right after you're 4 tiles away from the right wall and time a slide (just tap, don't hold) to dodge the grab. Position yourself about 1 to 1.5 tiles towards the foreground from the doorframe/lock (The line is a good indicator). The amount of time you hold w during the slide determines how far you'll go so make sure you hold it for an appropriate amount of time so you have to do less adjustments.

Speaking of the adjustments, the best way to practice this skip is to take your hands off of the controls right before the chef turns to push you. This will force you to position the chef and yourself correctly from the beginning, instead of trying to depend on luck by moving in some specific way to get into the wall that you can't replicate. It's fine to move back a bit if you didn't slide correctly, but if you are both in the correct positions you shouldn't have to do anything to actually get into the wall. Only after you get this consistently should you think about trying to get to the other side faster (chasing the infamous 'instaclip').

With version 3 we got an improvement found by MythicCheese. Before this we thought going right when you get pushed is consistent, but we found that walking into the chef before you get pushed and then not moving while you get pushed is actually better.

Garbage pit: Position yourself on the tile shown in the video. Facing angle does matter for aggro time so don't face the chef whatever you do. When the chef bobs back his head for the second time, start walking right and sprint just before you have reached the line in the middle of the room (6 tiles from both the left and right wall). Start going up about 2 tiles from the door and slide while arcing up. Then try to wedge yourself in the door with up+right after the chef did the second grab attempt. Be cautious with your jumps since they can also clip you out the wrong way. Also if you keep getting grabbed you might want to skip the left press from the video since it's not as necessary as in the first clip.
