In RVC (Re-Volt Competitive) times made with console collision mode are not accepted anymore. I'm here to announce that this DOES NOT affect speedrun.com leaderboards in any way. Console times are still accepted on this platform.
Reason why console collision is not accepted in RVC is that community likes simulation/arcade physics the most and don't want to race against console collision times. Lately Cocodoggo has posted some times that show the advantage of console collision and it might be the fastest collision mode on some tracks.
Personally, I'm very interested to see if console collision can indeed give you an advantage on some tracks and maybe some day someone will make a world record with console collision. I think it's also good that RVC doesn't have to upset their minds if someone breaks the world record on this site. RVC sheet will still be the most competitive comparison for fastest times and on speedrun.com we can focus on breaking the game as much as we can. That's the point of speedrunning, right?
