This is the old method for skipping the lava river in Ralugo to get to the Cave of Shudom early, without needing to have Jamie Porter build a bridge, or if you get the glitch that causes the bridge to never be built or disappear after being built. There is a faster (under some circumstances) method called Lava Skip 2 or Lava Skip Skip.

• After warping to the gold fountain in Ralugo using the Ichrius' Eye, without turning, walk forward so that the top of the tree to your right intersects the right-hand edge of your view:
• Turn left and line up the post on the opposite side of the lava river so that it is touching or close to touching the right-hand edge of your screen:
• Hold the run button and press forward. Immediately after pressing forward, hold left strafe and turn to the left
• You should stop holding left (before or as you land on the side of the river bank) but continue holding run, forward, and left strafe until you are back on solid ground. If performed correctly, you will still be alive and be slowly moving up the bank
• Manipulate your angle so you can clear the tree which blocks the top half of the slope and continue W past it until you can scale the slope to the N
