I just found this PC port and have been playing it for a bit and really fell in love with it. Jak and Daxter were one of the first games I've ever played. As this PC port develops I intend to try and start speedrunning.

Interested in hearing what you have to say. Have you tried any skips? Any method you noticed that doesn't work on the pc port? Or something else you might have on your mind. Feel free to share it!

Most of the major skips work the same. Here's a couple differences:

• The PS2 RNG implementation isn't properly replicated in OpenGOAL, so RNG-based manips don't work the same as PS2 (fish game manip, spinning lurker/orb crate in LPC)
• Fisherman cutscene skip doesn't work (or is really hard?) Powercell cutscene skips are much harder to get in OpenGOAL (load times?)

Im just excited tbh. Yeah Barg has covered most of the differences which only really affect 100% runs. There is much faster loading that might make a few routes different then their PS2 counterparts.

Sounds good! As I said, I'm new to the whole speedrunning scene but I'm going to try and get some good times on no LTS first and then move on to any% once I feel comfortable with no LTS.

Are there any plans to open up category extensions for any sort of randomizer runs in the future?

Yes, category extensions will open up in the near future, but there is not a set date as of now. We will also be adding the IL boards soon.
