Hello. I would like to be mod for Super Mario 64. I may not have run the game before, but I will in the future. So if I may, can I please be a moderator of Super Mario 64?
This is a last resort thread, please contact the current moderators first.
i want mod for smm (super mario maker) I have been Speedrunning 100 Mario Challenge for the past 2.6 weeks.
This is a "last resort" thread, did you contact the current moderators before posting here ?
Favorite Game : Boktai 3: Sabata's Counterattack
Least Favorite Game : Definitly Dead Space 3, sure, after all i've read i didn't expect much, but still, it's so bad (imo) that it shouldn't even exist
Favorite piece of music from a game : Not counting eurobeat songs from the initial D games, i'd say either Sealed Dungeon, or Bike Battle from Boktai 3
Favorite Video Game Level :
- Racing game : Irohazaka Downhill (Initial D : Extreme Stage)
- Otherwise, End of the Road (even if it's more like an entire scenario) from RE: Outbreak File 2
Favorite video game mascot : Used to be Sonic, and then... Boom happened. Nowadays i don't think i have one
A game that you like but no one else does : Well... there's RE: Gaiden on GBC and Metroid: Other M on Wii ¤raises shield¤
A game that you don't like but everyone else does : Super Metroid
What game do you think is underrated : At first i'd say "The Boktai games in general", but i don't think they're as underrated as they used to be.
What game do you think is overrated : Definitly Zelda: Ocarina of Time
What Game did you most recently play for the first time : Most recent is probably Gran Turismo 6 (wich is a disaster imo)

Btw this has nothing to do with your title, this is about submitting your time and not streaming by itself, just saying.
Ah i see, still a good game though
mystic quest... the GB game ?
No they don't, they wouldn't take down the videos otherwise, duh.
Either way it's not smart to encourage it on a site, bad things could happen, worst case scenario, the site could be taken down because of some idiot encouraging piracy.
I think an option to change the "Individual Levels" into anything else would be nice indeed, considering there's even racing games on this site afterall.
I mean, it does make sense, in a racing game no one would use "Individual Levels" instead of "Time Attack"
Alright so, since the game isn't on the site yet, you will have to request it via this link: http://www.speedrun.com/requestgame
Ideally, you should include a link to a speedrun of it (if you have one ofc). If it gets accepted, you'll be mod for the game, you'll be able to approve and reject runs by others, and customize the leaderboard too.
As for messages, sadly, this is a feature that has been requested but still isn't implemented yet. Currently the best way to contact peoples is via :
- Game forum if they're mod in it
- Their twitter / youtube / twitch / whatever accounts
I think it's allowed in general, but if your game is already on the site, i recommend asking in the game's forum, or contacting the mods to ask them, just in case.
Anyway I do not agree when you say to contact the mod via twitch or twitter, I am not asking anything out of speedrun.com and if the mod has taken the responsability to mod a game in speedrun.com, he should be active in speedrun.com I should not have to chase or follow him in any other media.
What would you think if someone would go to your twitch channel complaining about somehting like this while you are in a live show or run? In my opinion you should try to avoid this unless it would be completely neccesary.
I kinda agree with that, but please remember that :
- That person is still mod
- As a mod, it's his responsability to take care of the runs and the leaderboard
- If he doesn't do his job correctly, it's his fault
Sure, it's kinda rude to come in his stream just to complain, but it's his fault to begin with, this wouldn't happen if he'd do his "job" correctly. As a mod there's not much to do either, it's just approving runs and watching a bit over the game's forum, if he can't find 5 minutes to do that then what's the point ?
Seems that only popular games have mod proactivity.
Yes and no, tbh it just depends on the mod himself (or themselves, if there's more than one).
What's wrong with the gameplay you have now? I am pretty sure converter are just to convert to different formats, I saw some of your N64 Runs, and I see nothing wrong, maybe it's just me.
Please tell me you know that NTSC > PAL when it comes to speedrunning. Please please please.
Anyway about the gameplay: Reminder that a game in PAL is made to run at 50hz, it's not just the signal that's different, it's the whole game most of the time.
I have a dazzle, works fine. You sure you have the splitters hooked up?
Did you ever read the first post before posting that ?
