In the Steam version of YHTWTG, there's a ~30 second section at the end where you have to enter a password by jumping through portals. If you accidentally mistime a jump, and go through the wrong portal, you have to go through the reset portal and start over again. YHTWTG Any% is a 5-7 minute run, so having to restart a 30 second section does kill PBs if the runner isn't focusing.
Token: I'm pretty sure they donated a lot more than that.
Others with pictures next to their name have done work for the site for free. i.e. http://www.speedrun.com/user/milk
There is a planned timer update, however I don't know if this has been added to it. It's not possible right now, but you can highlight the timing difference in the rules.
Looking really good. I'm loving the new series pages as well.
Be sure to disable Adblock on this site. The ads are completely unintrusive and you'll only see them when your login expires.
Yajijy: Guacamelee is a difficult but fun run, however, you need a supported controller to pull off one of the major glitches. Xpadder won't help, you actually need a supported controller that works automatically.
I'll throw out You Have To Win The Game if you want to have a look, but I've watched original Castle of Illusion runs and they looked pretty good.
I do think there is merit to the submit run button linking to the create account page. I'm not sure about labeling it a 'barrier', but it could potentially lead to more people creating an account to submit their runs.
Misc categories are needed in some games: http://www.speedrun.com/ssbb
At the moment, I believe you need to contact a site admin. Twitch or Twitter work fine.
Belutima: Misc categories are decided by the game mods. If you are feeling insulted, take your complaints to them.
Skuttie: As gaming switched to discs, one thing they gave up for having more game files was loading times. Thus, loading times are inconsistent on emulators, and usually faster on good computers. That's why there really aren't any approved emulators for disc consoles (there might be a few exceptions, but I doubt there are many).
BubbleBobbler: Series mods don't have any powers in individual games anymore.
How dare these volunteers not donate more of their time.
Be careful you don't assume that because there are no past broadcasts, that they aren't active on Twitch. I've never streamed before, but I'll generally answer all Twitch PMs quickly.
I was running 100% YHTWTG. In the game, there is a collectible on the loss screen, so you need to intentionally lose, lose all your power-ups, and then go back and get them again to win the game. I was safely on PB (and I guess WR) pace when I accidentally lost the game without picking up the collectible.
Aaaand another. http://www.speedrun.com/user/qwaszxcvdf10
Out of interest, something I've noticed lately is that people are commenting on cases they have nothing to do with. Why is this happening? I mean, pointing out something clearly wrong with the request is fine, adding or disputing evidence is fine, but the admins can handle the rest.
