you need to show the achievements screen displaying 0 runs before you make a world, and show it having all the necessary achievements afterwards. so no
I recommend you make a burner xbox account for your run(s)
yes because in that case it is intentional if you accidently x-rayed for a second it would still be glitchless
@Genesect101 a glitch is a feature the developers didn't intended to be in the game, and in the context can be used to benefit a speedrun. glitches not intentionally caused by the player which aren't exploited or benefited from are not considered glitches.
for example, using item duplication exploits will make a run 'glitched', but running past a sheep that spawned stuck in a grass block is glitchless. It depends on whether a glitch is performed intentionally, and if and how much it benefits the run.
it's also worth noting that glitches must be performed in order for a run to qualify as glitched, and many glitches also require playing on a specific game patch.
I hope this answers your question, it's quite broad and not entirely black and white in a speedrunning context.
skyrim. it's bad enough at helgen but when horses get involved shit hits the fan quickly
all i know that might be somewhat helpful is they generate more often in soulsand valleys, or at least on java. i think that applies to bedrock too.
valleys tend to be very open anyway, so it's easiest to spot in one
hero of the village? not a chest cat
@zap_destroyer i can't really help you here, but there should be something in the guides section which can help
did you ever hear the tragedy of rubylight? it isn't a story the original donor's would tell you. It's a speedrunning legend. rubylight was a speedrunner of cookie clicker so good at clicking that he could use clicks... to obtain world record. he was able to use clicks to make the runs he cared about... #1 on the leaderboard
Cookie clicker speedruns are a pathway to many experiences some consider to be... terrible
be nice guys, people who are unfamiliar with the site may have trouble finding the rules and properly understanding them.
if you're unsure about something which isn't obviously very stupid (e.g iS cReAtIvE aLlOwEd?), then you have every right to ask in a forum.
in future, do try and read the rules beforehand. there should be a view rules button on the leaderboard.
bonus chest and starting map are both banned. you need to show yourself turning them off while creating a world.
and it isn't a stupid question, i wondered the same thing at first as well bcos the map is on by default :)
if you look up "necro" in the dictionary you just get a picture of this thread
@ckellyedits although this doesn't quite fit your genre's of games, a good run to play game to play casually on the nes would be Mike Tyson's punch-out, specifically the IL's
a fair few of the fights are at their theoretical limit, matching the TAS. matching these TAS's ranges from fairly easy with practice (Don Flamenco 1) to pretty damn difficult (Great Tiger), so there's a nice learning curve, and it's pretty casual. If you go for any non-tas records, the difficulty will skyrocket.
if you have access to a snes, Super Punch-Out is the same deal but with 15/16 fighters at their TAS, with difficulty ranging from Gabby Jay and Bob Charlie (fairly simple with a bit of practice) to Bald Bull and Macho (immense pain and suffering), and then Narcis, the unmatched TAS.
Punch-Out (Wii) is probably similar to mtpo but i'll be honest i've never played that game.
if you fancy casually learning some of a speedrun while still having a decent shot at world records, i would recomend punch-out
@StanBtw quality game, i remember playing a lot of escapists 2. because it isn't a highly active game, a video on youtube, or any other platform which mods can access, will be fine. streaming is only very rarely a requirement/strongly encouraged for highly active games that have had issues with cheating (super mario bros, MC java), so you'll be fine. I assume they have a discord, so if you want to be really safe ask there. good luck with your runs!
most runs only require a video, not a timer, and streaming is almost always not required, although it does make your run more likely to be verified. @StanBtw which game are you planning on running?
this won't be added on this website, the idea has already been rejected and new cats aren't being added at the moment.
there's an unofficial category extension website, so i suggest you try there instead: forum post - https://www.speedrun.com/mcbe/thread/c6p6o leaderboards - https://sites.google.com/view/un-mc-be-cat-ex/egap-rsg?authuser=0 discord - https://discord.gg/AApQttKaBA
just for the love of god don't run cookie clicker, for your own sanity
@FlashGiant the mods have literally hundreds of runs to verify at all times, a discord to run, most of them do runs themselves, some moderate other games, and they also have lives outside of speedrunning, which is just a hobby. Your run will be verified, just be patient.
Favourite to play: Super Punch-Out!! Favourtite to watch: Super Mario Bros. Warpless
