Alright, it's been about a year since i've been on the site I might as well give some general feedback.
From speedrunrecords.com to speedrun.com, i'd say there were major improvements compared to last year. Although messaging still isn't done....
Anyways, the problems that have been reported has been fixed rater quickly by mods and admins. Moderation system is still a bit broken from what i've seen. And i'm still waiting for the big forum update and the html fix as it's frustrating on mobile to have the search bar of the screen.
Custom themes can bring creativity to runners, time zones differences, and seeing the lastest runs on the homepage are all my personal favorites. But overall still huge improvement from speedrunrecords.com
Yeah.... people were right, this doggy needs to die. Unless new people come over this thread and/or get fresh opinions/arguments, this is just going in circles. It was fun while it lasted.
And this is the part where people shut down because of long posts.
Apparently people love the category because it's an enjoyable category and it's called Classic% because... uh....
Anyways. It's pointless to bash a category over it's name and try to compare it to it's rules. If that was the case then all the runs from All Missions and 100% would be on the any% leaderboard.
And by the way it should be called any% (classic rules) since 'Classic' isn't a percentage. :P
I guess he means a way to delete the original post that started the thread instead of the posts inside of them. But i'm just as confused as you are, Kirkq. Not sure what would be the point in that (assuming my assumption is correct).
Now the line "Timing starts when the initial loading finishes and ends when you lose control and the screen begins to fade to black after killing Sonny." has been copied over to all the categories' rules. The latter part of that sentence only applies to Any% as far as I'm aware.
Also does the timing increase apply to Trilogy runs too?
Majority of people uses SRL timing so I don't think anything will change. Plus people would have to sit through loading anyways and the timer still runs.

Wasn't there an external program being worked on or was that just an idea?
A leaderboard for the shits and giggles. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13w8Fau5ZJJuPIoDfdrIdU2YJOFQz3A3iKeesXY-z1-s/edit#gid=0
Yeah ZotonFace should be the emote since Zoton is a big part of GTAM. Literally no one knows who Jon is so PepsiMax (although being a good emote) wouldn't be the best option. And like NotBaDocha said DonaldFace is too game specific and would only be [correctly] used for the mid-end of LCS. This is logically speaking.
But if it's all about the looks then I would say PepsiMax.
Doctor and speedrunner?!? Mind is completely blown. Welcome!
All of the binds are pretty straight forward. If you use WASD, then all you have to do is bind Sprint to LShift instead of RShift. If you play with the arrow keys then bind the keys to whatever fits you.
If you are using WASD, then you could use E as an alternative sprint button if your pinky isn't strong enough to infinite sprint long distances. There might be other binds for looking back while in a vehicle but i'm not entirely sure.
Looking forward to seeing a run from you.
E: Some might use Q and E for weapon cycling if your mousewheel is too sensitive.
Nice.
Of course we can't stop them from playing under these rules, the thing that bothers people is that it's being treated as a main category instead of a misc. category. These rules are ridiculous for a main category. No mission skips is understandable but this is silly.
Refer to the following:
Although it should explain itself.
Edit: DLC got patched out in the latest patch
Don't do anything (screaming, shouting etc.) and let that feeling of losing something sink in, once it settles take a deep breath (if tears are coming for some reason just let it tear) and decide if you want to reset or just stop for a bit. Of course this won't work for all good runs, probably depending on how good it was.
First off, obviously if someone confronted me about the game I speedrun and it's rules being stupid, I would prove that it isn't with facts. Second off, we (The GTA speedrunning community) was asked about this. I say this because this was posted on the GTA thread instead of the GTA V thread. Third off, I'm not refuting directly towards ending C, i'm just using it as a point to remove classic rules as a main category (Since no one will speak up and say something about it out in the open/public).
Some people and I see this as some arbitrary category trying to pass off as main category. You and pretty much all of the GTA V runners (maybe except for some new ones) see it differently. It's fine. Do whatever you like.
I wasn't trying to be a dick or anything, i'm just playing devil advocate to show why people look at this category the way they do.
Ending C is forced because in other gta games main character didnt die, got it?
Why should this variable even matter? Adding these types of rules just makes the category even more arbitrary.
And another thing is more ACTUAL RUNNERS OF THE GAME should give their input on this topic, if you've never played or ran the game but you pretend on running it when the PC version comes out then you should wait and see how it plays out [...]
More actual runners will just repeat what was said here and not give much of a different reason to actually refute/support this.
If rule changes are to ever happen ONLY THE RUNNERS should be able to vote on it not just people in the community who have no idea.
For this topic and vote, I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to understand this game and why the rules are implied.
