It might, but I was able to beat the level 2 WR without much effort. And if lag can save like 20 seconds on the long stages, I doubt people wouldn't abuse it in the 3 second stages. I'll test it out though.

The 0 and negative times are hacked, however the WR times on the later levels do seem to use another glitch. I believe I'm ranked 1st in level 2 and 3 though, so clearly nobody has abused this unknown glitch on those levels. If a glitch is found that completely breaks the ingame timer, I'll probably switch the rules to IGT timing.

Yes, you can pause, restart, pause and unpause at the start of thr countdown to start moving before the countdown starts. It saves a little bit of time on any% and a massive amount of time on ILs

I don't speedrun NSMB on emu but I use Z for B and X for A, and arrow keys for the dpad on every emulator I use.

Ban it, but trust people to not cheat. People would still use it, but freely allowing it would be way worse, and give a significant advantage to everyone running on emu/vc. Maybe you could make a rule that every run with a video start recording at power on/reset?

The DDJ shortcut isn't considered a glitch. The only glitches that are viable to use in RTA runs are Wuhu Loop and Maka Wuhu, maybe Neo Bowser City if you have shrooms.

Glitch doesn't save as much time as you'd think, and is much riskier. I think they're just fine together.

You just unzip all the files and run the patching exe.

That's so dumb. If you want to compete with the people playing on level 9 height 5, then play level 9 height 5. It's there to raise the skill barrier once you can complete a 40l run on the other difficulties. There's literally no reason to split them up.
