I have an update on this. I just did it again in another location. I wasn't recording, but I'll start now. I think it may be similar, if not the same, glitch that's used in the any% SDA run, to skip half of factory.

Edit: Got it again in the original spot. It appears that you need to have full speed in either direction for it to work. If this is true, this being an RTA viable skip is unlikely.

Edit 2: Appears to be exactly the same as factory skip. I'll work on this more. Recorded a couple more skips, including one where I actually fell through to jungle.

Ok. So I was in the overworld, mashing jump while holding up (which is just what I do in the overworld), in the corner of the screen, transitioning to the next room, when I died, and in the room that I was going into. I don't know if this only occurs in that one spot, but this could become an interesting timesave for OOB%, possibly skipping half the overworld if my assumptions are correct. I'll post a video if I have to.

Also, a bit off topic, but I found some consistent setups for death abuse, especially in lava caves 1.

Well you can just press start in the menu to access the last game you played. But yeah, just thinking about doing some casual 16/70 star runs.

So yeah. Have a PAL n64 with an everdrive, are the runs on there legit? Reset time is longer , obviously, and it runs at an accurate speed (as far as I know).

There are 3 or 4 people, including me, who are in the top 5 on the leaderboard just because we have a time for "real time".

I read somewhere that there was a skype group but I have NO idea where that is. And discord is better for large groups anyway.

Why not? There are quite a few speedrunning communities that have their respective discord channels, so why not? Plus this game has a LOT of runners, so it would be better than to just use the forums, which are dead anyway. Thoughts?

Unless you write a godlike n64 emulator that can handle lanky kong's dankness. And pretty much the whole community agrees to use it.

Also, is the the first non-test thread in the DK64 leaderboards? Edit: lol seconds I never even saw the other one :/

Yeah, that's why I suggested where you could alter the pause times afterwards to be frame perfect. Or you could manually just remove the frames from the run afterwards

Ok I have started learning to run this game and I have a couple of stuff to say. Firstly, is there a timer that lets you pause it for a few seconds, to make up for loading times? I think something like that would work great, and after the run, you can alter the pause times. Is this a possibility/already a thing? Secondly: What are the approximate timings for the 3ds? I imagine just under wii u/emulator?
