Ivory you are finally a hero :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDddddddddddddddddddddd
Come on guys, you've seen enough of my posts to know the answer is Streets Of Rage 4 https://www.speedrun.com/streets_of_rage_4/
For the full Arcade run, there are five difficulties plus a Boss Rush mode giving you six categories. Then multiply that by every character (17) and add on two different co-op modes and you have 19 x 6 = 114 basic categories.
But wait, there are actually two different versions of the game, so technically it is 228 categories as people can still run v4.
Beyond that, there is also the IL leaderboards. No two player mode for IL runs though (yet.....), so it is only ("only") 17 x 6 x 12 stages = 1,224 individual level categories.
So if you include full game and ILs together, there are no less than 1,452 ways to run Streets Of Rage 4.
One major positive for IGT is it creates more of a level playing field. For instance two levels that took 5:50 IGT might have wildly different RTAs due to: PC quality, game load speed, faster menuing (which you could argue is a skill and should be considered), different hardware to select menu buttons quicker, autoclickers, etc etc etc.
Personally I'm a big fan of IGT for these reasons.
Basically, depends on the game's specific rules as to whether you need to add a timer or not. I'm sorry I don't know what the geforce recorder is, but if it records your video, I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed. Nobody really knows what you used to record when you upload a video.
Hey, welcome :) for specific tips you are better asking in the Minecraft / SMB forums or Discords. But good luck!
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many Cars 2 runners, which on one hand is good as you'll definitely get 1st or 2nd, but bad as there isn't much to talk about. You can see the forum / moderators here - https://www.speedrun.com/cars2
Inazuma Eleven seems to be more active, with a DS run being submitted as recently as yesterday - https://www.speedrun.com/inazuma_eleven_series
You would be best going to the above links and posting in the forums or discords or whatever there specifically. These are more "generic" forums, but we're always happy to talk speedrunning around these parts. Good luck, have fun!
bbo _chickneyou are a hero you made the 22 Page of this Thread!!
Ah yes, the feedback form and forum that continually get ignored. Grand suggestion.
@RaggedDan I'm always conflicted with game-breaking glitches, like it is COOL for people to play a game like that then find some glitch that makes the game complete in like 0.01 seconds .... but I have no interest in watching things like that haha even the famous ones like Mario 3 and SMW
Shout-outs to pogo, a fun dance originating from the punk music scene
@WanderAgro no it's really not - there is a lot of great conversation in here worth reading, and the five additional comments are a LOT more beneficial to the forums than people saying "stop necroing". THAT truly contributes nothing.
It isn't a rule. People can necro if they want, and it has brought about discussion.
If you're looking for a game that can be played on Steam, isn't a platformer, and you could get a halfway decent PB within a week, Streets Of Rage 4 has many categories; is on Steam (and very cheap to buy); also uses IGT instead of RTA so is easier that way too, plus the Livesplit has autosplit functions.
Extremely easy game to pick up and start speedrunning immediately.
Especially given how there was a LOT of emphasis on community engagement when they took over. Strange.
If you don't want the videos to be "public" outwith speedrun.com you can make a Youtube channel, upload the video, and set it to "Unlisted".
That way only people with the direct link (ie the link you post to submit to SRC) can access the video. It isn't searchable.
You haven't really stated your concerns though, but maybe that will help?
Good luck, you'll likely never get further than you have. The "notability" and "trivial" clauses are a mystery to us all.
I wanted to be the very best, like no-one ever was
Same with me, I wonder if it is a site-wide issue rather than the SOR4 boards specifically. In which case, it'll never get fixed lol
