@JessicaSix : When I tell you I can't do all of this, it's that I can't. Really. It's like many many years I play this game, but I realized with my segments that the time difference between a normal race and a tryharded race is absolutely huge, like 10 seconds and more. My goal of this segmented is to get my best times (without training 1 week for a race tho, just a few hours). So, maybe you can drive your very best and get a great RNG quickly, excellent if it's true, but I can't, mostly because of the RNG. The best I could possibly do to satisfy your demand is to do this single segment starting from this #9 segment, but then the run quality will drop.
Now I understand what's the problem for you. I don't cut the menu, but you wonder why the 1 st pursuit isn't here. I just remove it and place the good one over it, that's all. I just replace a pursuit by a pursuit, but that's the point that makes you angry. I always did it on purpose, so I managed to keep the difference as less as possible.
I didn't play since this problem has begun, so I can still re-record this race. But this doesn't fix the problem that you don't accept the edit I talked about, whatever the reason. And I can't fix this for every segment.
Moreover, Ewil, why do you talk about this 5 seconds menu? I'm trying to repeat again, that I do NOT go on this menu after this race. To skip this menu, I keep the pursuit after the line, try to finish it the best way and then I open the menu to challenge Earl. I don't cut anything from the game itself. And I don't want you to tell that you'd close your eyes on a mistake. Being kind is a thing, not respecting the rules is another. I prefer to stop here if there's a problem, rather than continuing this and knowing I made a mistake.
For Irving, just shoot a rocket and 1(or 2) missiles from the turret anywhere on him, you don't need to shoot his weak spot. At least it's a bit faster because you don't have to aim precisely. I think it's just a matter of personnal preferences tho.
We're using a slightly different strat for Jill, at least for console (still slower than mouse quick kills). We still use Flash grenades, but I shoot them behind Jill, while my partner shoots Jill's control unit with the gun right after the stun. I don't know if there's faster things yet, but this is the best we've found atm. And it's doable in NG and NG+.

Really? How can you say I cut out some parts of the game? Is any race missing? Is any single bounty point missing? I just don't get your point of view.
I just posted my parts one by one on purpose because I wanted you to tell me if everything is ok, if I'm doing everything correctly. And today, I ask you about something, and at the end, all I get is a 'I don't want an anwer from you'? Are you damn serious?
I thought that you were an help, who could learn me some tricks or just give me some infos on how to do better, and this looks like a sermon.
The least coming from you could've been to answer me nicely so that I could be satisfied of your answer and keep my will of doing my segments. Your answer just completely broke my will of doing this. Maybe you can this fleeing, maybe no one will agree with me, but this is the way I understood it.
To continue, when did I even say that it was Ewil's fault? I just said that he was the one who told me to do as much segments as possible, so I tried to do my best and get the best times I can. Maybe I did wrong, maybe some people would say it was good, but whatever. The person is not the problem, it's that I did as I thought is was the best and no one here told me that I was doing wrong (at least for this point, I don't talk about the 1st time, that was my fault, entirely.)
I think that you still don't understand my request though. You seem to understand I wanted to escape, and then I started another pursuit. This is wrong ! I told you that my goal with to keep cops attention on purpose ! So If the difference with the cops cars on screen was too big, I could've re-drove the race, so there's no problem. But now it seems that it's an entiremy diffrent problem, that I even don't understand.
You talk about Resident Evil , but as any other game, I know what's speedrunning. Man, I don't get the point of this argument. Please explain what you mean, you lost me.
As segmented 'rules' (tho I don't think it's about rules, but just a difference of understanding of the situation) are creating that much of a problem, I don't see the point of continuing it, because I'm tired of fighting to understand what I'm doing wrong and getting harsh answers than friendly and comprehensive ones.
I'll probably just stick to single segment runs which I'll do when I'll have a good enough internet to stream it. It will be enough, I'll wait till this will happen.
You know, I'm still new to speedrunning community, but I wanted to help other people, to search for glitches, to get the fastest route. In one expression, to make the community go further. Seems that I failed, and now it's even like I'm totally out of it. I'm young (20 yo), but I've got respect to me and to everyone, thus I'd never submit somthing that is uncomplete, I just couldn't bare myself for it. When I do something, I try to do my best and getting me and others satisfied.
This is my last post about it, unless you ask for my opinion. I've said everything I had to. I hope that you don't have a bad impression of me, and if it is, well, I can't do anything more about it. See ya later !
Now the choice is quite simple tho.
-
You both decide that I can continue this way
-
If you decide that I can't, I quit. I just do this segment so that I can wait to play this game on a good PC
You're the one who told me that I should do as many segments as possible to get the best times. On the other segments the difference is minor, so I can re-drive this last race if needed, but I can't do more.
I just can't do a race + a pursuit in a single segment perfectly, sorry. Because that means that I would need a great driving + no bad traffic + no cops in my way + these cops that must follow me all race long + a good RNG for the cops spawn during the pursuit + a good RNG for roadblocks when I need them. Do you really think you can do this in a one-shot. I don't.
Watch this screenshot : http://hpics.li/03840f7
This is just a quick attempt to show you what you'll probably see in my pursuit segment. Cops cars. Everywhere. So is that difference (going from no cops cars, to plenty of them) OK, or not?
EDIT : You understand that I did that on every other part right? There was no problem as far as I know. SO wtf?
My autosave is disabled of course. Moreover, what's this 'map' you talk about? I mean, when I finish a race, I've got the winning screen with the photo, the time and the cash gained. When you leave this screen, you can select a new race or a milestone. Getting cops attention during the race avoids me to open this menu to start a pursuit, because I'm already in another one!
Check my previous segments if you're not sure, but nothing lacks because every time you see the winng screen and the menu after it if I select a race, or a speedtrap When I drive a race after another, I cut at the first frame of the 2nd race. When I drive a pursuit after a race, I cut at the last frame of the winng screen. That's just all.
To understand, I'll explain you how I record my segments : (in this case I'll talk about this race & pursuit)
- I tryhard the race to get it as I want (this means the good time and good cops, and I've got it despite the cops are not directly nearby me on the finish line)
- I quit the game without saving, and then I re-launch it when I want to do the pursuit.
- When re-launched, I re-drive the race, but this time I don't care about the time, I just want the cops.
- Once I estimate that the cops 'presence' is OK, I end the race, and start the pursuit. 4b)When I edit my replays, I cut the race video at the last frame of the 'winning screen', and then I add the pursuit.
- I repeat the 3) and 4) until I'm satisfied of my pursuit, and then I can do my speedtraps OR the duel if all requirements are done.
I proceeded on every segment like this, and you never told me there was a problem at this point so I don't see why it's good now.
There's just one point you misunderstood. I want to get cops attention to avoid to start a pursuit from the menu, which is like 5 seconds slower than starting one during a race. My goal isn't to escape in this race, so that's why it's hard to say for me.
I know that technically I didn't break anything, because I was still in pursuit when I crossed the line, so cops could've found me right after the line. My only worry was about the cops that aren't there in the race segment, but will be there after the line in the pursuit segment.
And reminder : I'm on X360, so I don't have Alt+F4, but I can come back to the Xbox main menu with one button, so it's quite the same.
http://hpics.li/4867ab1 -> The moment the pursuit starts, you can see the finish line is not far away
http://hpics.li/e0438a4 -> And the moment I cross the finish line, you can see that the cop made a u-turn, and I'm still not in cooldown, because there isn't the little "semi-circular" thing in the middle of the black sensor. Then imagine there is many copsright next to me after the line, like they just popped out of nowhere.
No, this has nothing about bounty points or heat level (during #9 races you get stuck to heat 3, and I'm already on it). This is just about cops "presence"
I drove the only race with cops in my routing, and I've got seen by a cop only a few meters in front of the line. The cop just took another road so I was beginning to escape. When I exactly crossed the line, I was escaping, but I wasn't in cooldown.
If I keep this segment, when I'll do my pursuit segment, there will be a visible difference in game, because you'll see the end of the race with litterally no cops around me. And after the line, the pursuit segment will start, and I'll have some police cars around me (because I drive the race and the pursuit separately, to get the best times possible).
So, my "simplfied" question is : Is the difference on screen OK enough so I can keep this race segment, or should I re-drive it to get more cops and lower the difference?
If it's still quite difficult to understand (no problem) after that, I'll try to make some screenshots to show you what it looks like.
Question for an admin :
I've just finished my #9 race in which I'm chased by the cops, and I've only be seen by one a few meters above the finish line, and he instantly "fled". That means that at the exact moment on when I cross the line, I'm evading with no cops on sight, but I'm however not in cooldown mode yet. So my question is : Can I keep this race for editing, and then make my pursuit normally? (that implies that the pursuit segment will be most likely to start with many cops cars on me, which will cause a difference on screen).
#11 part is done...
Done. https://docs.google.com/document/d/17g-JAYffyfJJ-uUxafRi3VQqnSupJDZEQPbgIxu5o1E
There's just all the informations, it looks like a pastebin file, so don't expect a nice presentation ^^
I'm on it, will try to do it for tonight.
Why not, but that means that PC players will always be on top of the leaderboards, therefore console players may have less visibility. This remains a personnal preference tho, I don't see any problem with this suggestion.
The run is on semi-pause atm, for a few reasons.
First, Forza 6 is out for 2 weeks now and I still play it a lot to learn and master the game. Second, when I don't play Forza, I try to spend my free time doing other things or just casually play other games for fun. (If only I could stream!) Third, I speedrun other games, and it takes me some time to learn and find some strats. And MW has annoyed me a bit because of my fail, so I tend to do it for shorter sessions, and do cleaner races when it's possible.
I've already finished Big Lou's segment, I just need to edit, render and upload it; might do it in the next few days. Baron is nearly done, only the pursuit and duel remains.
EDIT : Also I'll have to test some strats that should be possible only in segmented, so this too might make the videos with longer interval between them. I'll have to test the Elise start glitch, and also the master glitch for the final pursuit later.
So, if some people still follow this run, do not be surprised if you see that the videos aren't done, and sorry for the delays.
Oh ok, so it's good I asked, I first thought it was about cops heat (don't ask me why I thought this Kappa )
So no problem ofc ^^
I don't understand exactly what this command do, can you explain a bit more?
Is this script a modification of the game's files? or is it something apart?
as I said I didn't understood well, but as I can see now, it's looking like unfair, isn't it? or maybe I'm completely wrong. Please explain so I don't take any hasted conclusions.
Maybe, in a matter of putting everyone on the same restrictions, we could restrict the FPS to a certain level (60? 120?), and players must not go over this level.
Impossible for me to see the doc atm, you surely forgot to enable the free access to view it.
I didn't test much, but tires make a lot of difference. Although it seems that on some cars it adds more understeer/oversteer, for a weird reason.
EDIT : Now it's ok, thanks :)
