Then you can't change it unless there's a way to dispatch from the Windows store. The option to revert to Legacy is only available on Steam, GOG, etc.

Hey everyone. We're in the middle of planning our first big competitive event and would like some feedback from potential participants. If you are interested in taking part in such an event, please take the following poll to help us decide the format! As always, if you do not wish to participate, please disregard this poll. Thanks!
Feel free to use this thread to discuss ideas as well!
For those who are interested, here is a link to the Candleman Speedrunning Discord server
Yeah, casually, it's okay of course. But we've decided to ban it for runs because it sort of violates the rules of not using another save, since switching profiles means you don't have access to the file you're running
Usually we have them done within a couple of days, but we're a little backed up due to the holidays. We are working on the backlog now, so it shouldn't be too much longer.
I'm assuming the original post on this thread was deleted?
Pretty much this. If you want to do it in practice, by all means go for it though!
You can always sort the leaderboards by platform
It is possible, but since the tabs represent full categories and sub-categories are variations on those, I feel like it should stay as is personally
Haha no worries.
The point of having the glitched categories split is for those who want to run the other categories on the new patch. The whole reason we had the poll in the first place was because we tried having the new patch limited to Glitchless stuff only and people complained about being locked into one type of category. For one, Xbox runners have to play on new patch so they can now run all categories again. Furthermore, there may be PC runners who want to run on current patch as well. It's simply there as an option for those who can't/don't want to play old patch.

Possibly. I'll think on it throughout the day and if it's better the other way switch it around.
-
Why shouldn't the glitched categories have the version split? That's what the entire poll was about.
-
I can't make Current Patch the default without making it the default for everything due to how I have those subcategories set up
That's this issue at the heart of this debate. Clearly, there's a need for us to split pre/post patch runs, but the question is how to do it. The way you suggested is one of the leading options, but there has been a lot of talk about a version filter as well
The poll is now live. You must be a speedrunner in the Discord to vote. If you would like to vote, make sure you have the appropriate role in the server. If you don't, contact me or one of the mods on Discord to get the role. The poll closes at 11:59 pm EST on Monday, December 4th, with the implementation of the winning option occurring shortly after
To those holding off on runs because the future of the game is up in the air, I apologize. But it's important to make sure we get this right this time around. We have a few options at our disposal, some of which provide fairly similar results. We should have an answer implemented by the end of the week at the latest. It's also only been a day since the patch. I just ask that you be patient with us and give us the small amount of time we need to make sure we handle this appropriately
To respond to your point about being decisive, snakemaster, I understand that the menu glitch is still up in the air. In fact, I posted about it on that thread a few hours ago, but I'll repeat that sentiment here. Right now, the patch is more of a priority in my mind. I haven't forgotten about menu glitch but I think we need to decide things about the patch first, since that could affect what happens with menu glitch.
To be fair though, I don't see why the menu glitch is holding you up. It's not banned, nor will it be. The only thing up in the air about it is whether we'll have a separate category for those who don't want to use it. Nothing is stopping you from submitting runs as a result of it. I'll admit it has taken a bit on the long side, but there's been a lot of confusion for various reasons about what the issue is. Furthermore, outside interference with the poll caused us to create a new, speedrunner-only one.
Unfortunately, you have to keep in mind that we are a large community. Things will take time to figure out. Look at what happened with the patch. We rushed to make a decision on it and screwed up. I know it's important to make a decision, but it's just as important to make sure we're doing things with the community in mind. The second we start rushing things is the second we start screwing it all up.
I know we can't please everyone. Never have been able to, never will be able to. But that doesn't mean that other people's opinions aren't important. Ultimately this is everyone's board, not ours. You all are the ones who ultimately decide how things are or how they won't be; we just implement these policies and police them.
That is something I forgot to mention as well. We can certainly work out a pre/post patch thing for ILs
