MisterPost :(
Are console runs not allowed on these leaderboards?
For some reason the date thing on submit run doesn't default to "today" anymore.
Also, entering times is tedious. I'd much rather type 03:23:44 rather than use three dropdown menus and search for the correct number.
We're not here to discuss if their intentions are good, just if the result should be accepted.
So if the result is bad, file a complaint. I don't see the problem. If their intentions are good, then listening to the complaint and fixing it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, they're not only unqualified as a web designer, but also incapable of running a leaderboard.
Edit: I just realized filing a complaint is kinda difficult without some sort of messaging system.
This will cancel the taxi glitch though
Allowing people to post times on here but not on the other leaderboard could cause that people start using this site instead of the other because it has a bigger/more accurate list of times, thus rendering the other leaderboard useless.
It'd provide competition that would cause unnecessary emotional harm to users of the other leaderboard. If we really want to provide an overview of all leaderboards for all games being run, I'd say it's best to design a system where the site links to the other leaderboards without 'stealing' its runs.
Ah I see. Thanks! In any case, as I wasn't able to access the Edit game page for the glitched games, I could not press the delete button
Add game page it says
"Abbreviation eg, smb2. Optional, must be unique."
However, I failed to realize that "octodad" was already the 'abbreviation' of the series (http://www.speedrun.com/octodad). So upon adding the game called "octodad" and giving it the same abbreviation, I now glitched where it has two links to itself (and one to gtavc I put as a test) with no way for me to remove the two links. I tried changing the series abbreviation so that I could access the editgame page for the game but it'll take me to the series edit page anyway.
A check whether an abbreviation already exists would be useful, since this could get quite a nuisance when multiple games with the same abbreviation pop round.
On top of that, a way for a series mod to remove a game.
Also being able to see all your previous runs.
If moderators don't reject runs for the sole reason of you already having a better time (looking at you, Grand Theft Auto mods), all your runs should appear on your profile page.
If you dont submit an IGT, it'll take the RTA time as the IGT time. This works if RTA is longer than IGT.
I'm not sure if you can submit a run specifying only IGT and not RTA.
Last time I checked (a good few months ago), it wasnt possible to submit a run where IGT was larger than RTA. I'm not sure if this has been fixed in the meantime.
I dont see how loading a save to force a new game rather than just pressing new game would increase the likelihood of splicing.
The radio not being reset could have quite some psychological benefit though. Plus, who knows what else won't be reset? Needs further investigation.
Yes there is. Just tick 'separate load times' in the edit game page.
I want to check the "Talk","Grand Theft Auto series" and "Grand Theft Auto III" subforums. What i'd like to do is open up these three subforums in three seperate tabs by pressing the middle mouse button while hovering over them and close the original tab. What happens though is that i press the middle mouse button for the "Talk" sub-forum and it opens a new tab like it should but the original tab also opens up the "Talk" forum and doesn't stay on the forum selection.
This is hugely annoying and should be top priority IMO
Edit: Also double click prevention on the "Post comment" button
The camera is horrible when turning, which can make flying a pain sometimes(wsad/arrow keys -> no mouse). However, you can fly with the left hand on the keyboard and the right hand on the mouse: use 'extra mouse buttons' (buttons in addition to Left/Right) for flying up and down. Requires getting used to. Alternative: using mouse steering, there's a 'mouse look' button (forgot which one) to use for looking arround.
Or bind the flying keys to a key you can reach with your left thumb: C, V and B
Also, you want to bind the Secondary Fire in a car to a mouse button or a button you can reach with your left hand while driving. This is for the mission T-Bone Mendez in order to grab the package off the back of the bikes. You can also use this button to do Drive-By's with your Uzi, but it does the secondary fire mode for the Hunter/Hydra.
Whenever I reinstall the game, I make three quick rebinds:
- I switch Shift and Space around (No selfrespecting game uses space for something other than jump. Just look at any Shooter game out there)
- I bind the flight keys and turret steer keys to something I can reach with my left hand, as well as thumb buttons on my mouse. This gets rid of any need for me to move my hands AT ANY TIME except for when I want to eat something.
- Bind secondary fire to RMB. Default is left control which is harder to reach with the pinky. Handbrake works fine on spacebar since you have your left thumb available.
Basically, bind as many keys to your Left Thumb as possible as it is a very versatile finger that can reach a lot of buttons. The mouse is hardly used while driving, so bind every button you can. However, the usual limited number of buttons available prevents you from binding everything to the mouse. Your left pinky is also unused, but it has limited buttons available as well (shift and capslock, the rest is already awkward) unless you use ESDF, which I heard is superior anyway so if you get used to that it might benefit you (it also prevents DDDDDDDAAAAAADWD from activating)
Makes me wonder, is there a benefit of ESDF over RDFG?
