Hey, DAN-BALL series mod here. @UprightThumbs can you add me as mod so I can add categories for start and end timing?
Any word on these updates? https://www.speedrun.com/post/27cqq
Edit: Thanks for creating the messaging system :))
Hey! All current runs have been retimed using https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime
I was head beta tester of this tool. It is the most accurate retiming method I've seen on speedrun.com. We would love if you used it while retiming runs!
If you have any timing disputes, please let me know! All retiming info is located in the comments of each run.

Welcome to new runner @cameran923! Thanks for submitting your run for rice!
Note the change in individual level timing. We are going from RTA to IGT. (Don't know what RTA, IGT, IL mean? Just ask!)
From: Time begins when you start the level from the level menu. Time ends when the camera zooms in your character for the final hit.
Although time is given on the end screen, we want millisecond timing to show a clear winner. Please submit times accordingly.
To: Please record everything from starting the level from the level menu to the final time given by the in-game timer at the end of the level. We will use IGT.
NOTE: I wanted to make sure that we can still extract IL times from world runs. After zooming in on your character at the end of the level, the timer in the top right stops. We will use this time for IL timing.
I just made a post about this but I'll delete it and comment here
I think it would be best to change the rules such that a longer run (such as full All Worlds) can be split into smaller runs. This is how I modeled the Cat Bird ILs, with time starting when Cat Bird hits the ground, so that any IL or IW taken from a larger run can still count for a record. That being said, I think timing should begin on any level when the pause button appears in the top right, since that's a pretty clear indicator. Timing should end when the pause button disappears. These are two events that are easy to detect and occur in every level the same way. Please like this post if you agree.
I think vid should be required for all runs below a certain time, not just top 5. How about sub 10 for Any% to start?

On Samsung S7, I use the native recording app, Game Screen Recorder, or DU Recorder to record my games. Each has its perks. For the timer, I use a simple app called Floating Speedrun Timer. It can get in the way of your playing, so make sure its in a good spot before you start recording.
On Amazon Kindle, I use SmartPixel to record, upload to Facebook, download, and add a timer in a video editing software called ShotCut. I'm not sure if this specific game is on that device, though.
If you have a different way of recording and timing, please share!
Nope, changing the name of a category causes all runs in the category to disappear. You have to keep the links open for all of them and reverify them.
Edit: Hmm, yup I was wrong. Sorry for spreading mis-info :D I was thinking about when you have to transfer runs into a newly created subcategory. For instance, having an lb with only Any%, and then created glitchless and with-glitches subcategories -- this will cause the runs to disappear from the lb because their IDs are not tied to a newly required subcategory.
Edit (6 months later): Also wait, I was right. Changing a category name does cause runs to disappear from the leaderboard. Runs are tied to the name of the category and need to be reverified in order to assume the new category name. I thought I was wrong for a while but just tested it again. I need to reverify 350+ runs in order to match them up to new category names and this should really be fixed.
Mass reverification. It would be nice to somehow select an entire leaderboard, category, or subcategory and throw all the runs into reverification. Of course with an "are you sure?" button. Example uses:
- I want to change the name of a category, which will cause all runs to disappear from the leaderboard.
- I just changed a timing rule and need to retime all runs.
- Routine reverification (idk who would do this but hey)
I'm from Dallas and 50/50% may be back in town around this time. Definitely keep in touch! I mostly run mobile games like https://speedrun.com/cb , which aren't too difficult to stream live.

Hey there!
Thanks to my friend Slush, retiming can easily be done using this app: https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime
It is more accurate than taking timer start and stop frames from videos. It requires uploading to YouTube, though.
Any questions? Happy Golfing!

Thanks!
So every time you reset, you have these items? @MrUppercaseT have you seen this in your own resets?
