Thanks and btw maybe you or Brendon could create a seperate topic for N64 glitches/shortcuts/skips. i think people who specifically search for N64 stuff would find it easier that way.

Post your ideas for the bingo here, what we have so far from the marathon topic:

Useful links Location of frenzies, tokens, wang cars etc.:

Possible bingo goals

  • get all tokens
  • complete all frenzies (or maybe some specific like tank frenzies)
  • complete all x gang missions
  • get the x bonus (x is one of the 11 possible bonuses)
  • collect all wang cars (only residential)
  • crush certain cars (either for a certain power-up/weapon or maybe rare cars like A-Type in downtown)
  • get a Benson in industrial or downtown (in some missions where the enemy is set to chase you down, the standard car they are spawned with is the brown Benson after you shake them the first time. Note there are no parked Bensons or in traffic in those districts.)
  • get x amount of points
  • get a unique vehicle (bullet/rocket proof garbage truck in Industrial, black meteor/miara in some final missions ))
  • complete some hard missions the intended way (for example "Penal Ties" in residential)
  • complete a mission in a "fun" way (like chosing the panto for the race in "We love you granpa" in residential)
  • get maximum respect for each gang
  • earn x $ with the taxi
  • roundtrip on the train
  • unlock the dementia limousine (completing "dimentia to go" in downtown)
  • do ee glitch, whereever, just make it happen
  • get all multipliers on map
  • complete Downtown with standart multiplier on Tank
  • get 420 score points for one action
  • get flyglitch
  • complete "Armored Car Clash" in downtown with 1 explosion (damn that sounds fun)
  • complete any% BUT exit each district with double amount of money needed (2,6,10 instead of 1,3,5) or split this, I don't know/care
  • get out of bounds and survive
  • hit the world roof (wind made that happen I guess)
  • complete "The Final Job!" in any district (sounds horrible, but bingos shouldn't be short, so if lines kinda help with it, it might be alright)
  • survive x minutes with 6 wanted level
  • do extra missions (can't tell what challanges you can add to those)
  • go from 0 to 6 wanted level with ONE "electrofinges" power-up
  • do OLD industrial route

Here the vid for the tank frenzy in the south-east: https://www.dropbox.com/s/11s6qu9yf4uf70m/tank_frenzy_11times.avi?dl=0 Please watch carefully, especially Wind. Use the black lantern or whatever it is as an orientation point. Align the tank cannon like I did, then drive back and forth past that lantern. Shoot when you see people approaching the wall and maybe a second time when you start to go forth again, that is it. Also starting it with a low wanted level or none might help even more with the spawns.

About the route: It looks like if you die somewhere around 8 you spawn close to 9, just south of the green Zaibatsu phones where you can take the Beamer. If you suicide with the last rocket while doing 9 you respawn right next to 13. So for that section 8(wasted)-9(wasted or busted)-13-14-11-12-10-15 looks good imo. Then I would proceed with 15-17-16-19-18-20. You can run from 15 to 17 while you shoot peds. And you can drive over peds on the way from 16 to 19. Stay with the tank not far from 18. With 18 you need to drive over a lot of peds, so you can pass more distance and reach further frenzies while driving over people. About 1 and 2 not sure, they are also close to a respawn place.

Edit: My route would be 1-2-6-4-5-3-7-8(death warp)-9(busted/death warp)-13-14-11-12-10-15-17-16-19-18-20 Did a test run on it, failed the tank frenzy in the west (need to figure up a better way to end up nearby 18) and the time was ~19:30 mins. In order to spawn at the right place after 8 I need to death warp (throw molotov while you enter car) right above the road above the police station. You collect the molotovs after starting 3 and going to the police station in the north.

I don´t have a route, but you can watch my frenzy guide on youtube. Not every frenzy is particularly done the fastest way, but I was aiming at reliability since it is a guide.

Edit: Just a note about the tank frenzy where WordofWind said it is unreliable and has a fail rate of like 1/1.1 times. I just did it 11 times in a row and got tired.. i take back the 1/5 fail rate i estimated, this is simply idiot proof. I will upload a video here soon and write some more notes.

I guess "any" doesn´t equal "every", oops. :D

About some of your ideas:

  • minimum respect is only possible with cheats. Any action against one gang (kill gang member, steal/crush gang car, complete mission for rival gang) will always raise a rival gangs respect.
  • complete all final jobs is like doing a full all mission run, that would take me 3 hours if I have no mistakes so it is unrealistic even for a bingo imo.
  • complete "armored car clash" with one explosion? Damn, only when the stars (the miaras) align maybe.. :D
  • I also need to correct myself with the benson in downtown/industrial, the only reliable mission that always spawned it for me is the Zaibatsu mission "Lock-out!" in industrial, in other missions they mostly take some random traffic cars, although "Final Job!" often spawns it too.

The rest sounds pretty good. About the extra missions, you mean those bonus stages I assume? A challenge would be to get the max rank in those and some of them might be a bit tough to get, so it might be a good idea. You would need to decide if you want to start with all levels unlocked or from an empty slot.

I will create a topic with info about bonuses and car crush rewards because there doesn´t seem to exist any reliable info about them. The wikis have dozens of mistakes.

What kind of ideas for a bingo would you have btw? Some things I can think of:

Yeah the time is about the same. It is not as easy as the other one though and roadblocks can appear on the road. If you could do EEs with wanted lvl 4, so that you can do 4 in a row then it should be faster, but else not.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

Well nothing is set in stone yet. Most of the big skips have the major glitches involved anyway, but I agree some minor things don´t need to be seen as glitches, like those that are marked with (?) for example with the backroll trick at the boss fight being the exception and some map glitches. In the end the one who decides to do a glitchless run will have to properly define it here, these are just some suggestions.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

Haha, nice glitch. I couldn´t replicate it on PC, but you don´t get to the top of the waterfall anyway because of the chalk strats.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

All known glitches/skips for the PC version are pretty much listed in the "Glitchless category" and "shortcuts and skips" threads. Then there are the old segmented IL runs from Goggen on youtube for the first 7 levels I think. Also Youtube sometimes can have some non speedrun related glitch videos too which can be useful. But there are already many skips/glitches for PC version listed here in the forums, which you could try out on N64. So I would recommend to just start by trying some of these.

Also different levels are different long and hard, so that won´t work anyway.

discussione: Grand Theft Auto 2
GermanyMolotok8 years ago

In any% strats changed in every level compared to last year and is much easier to do now and faster so that would make sense. Wang Cars is for wankers... but short. Downtown all mission race would also be good to see, all levels won´t work @Jolzi since they only play downtown.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

So far I haven´t seen anything for the N64 version either and unfortunately I only play the PC version. I know of this shortcut which was found years ago and thats it:

You could try to test some PC glitches/skips and see if some of them work on N64 too. From looking some videos on youtube N64 version seems to be even more glitchy than the PC version, so I guess a lot of new things to discover. Good luck.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

For a segmented run I think yes it would. In single segment we don´t allow autosave, so that doesn´t matter there.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

@jocica: I do that since I am the only active mod/player here and the others played the N64 version at some point from what I heard.

@q94471: I figure one would need lots of medpacks to survive and get Nub´s part. But it is a time saver and anything that shortens the time helps. If your Lagoon oddities help the speedrun of this game progress, feel free to share. :)

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

You can´t proceed without the hammer though. So the torpedo needs to be used unless you can clip through to the water below and then above again.

GermanyMolotok8 years ago

Most of the levels are basically routed besides "Meroe" and "infernal Machine" I think. But maybe you can find something new there:

  • In Lagoon the route is what Goggen did. One little thing is you can jump on the right side instead of climb after the first spider web, saves maybe 1-2 sec. Also of course if you buy a lot of medkits you won´t need to get fresh air as often as Goggen did. Clips through the locked door didn´t seem to work for me.
  • in Volcano the route is my video + Riences video and then the final part when you free Sophia(you can skip the first dialogue with her which Goggen didn´t do if you quickly open the menu after you land next to the prison and select the key).
  • For Aetherium here the route so far: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o7gkhpd56rlgojo/Indy3d_lv16_route.avi?dl=0
GermanyMolotok8 years ago

Hm, I actually meant the normal glitched run without wall clips. Estimates lvl by lvl would be something like: 5 + 10 + 15 + 25 + 15 + 15 + 15 + 3 + 15 + 18 + 8 + 30 + 15 + 15 + 15 + 13 + 13 = 245 mins. It looks more like 4 hours at least. Wall clipping won´t save more than 1 hour from what we have seen so far.

I also tried to install the normal game on win xp 32-bit in the virtual box where you don´t need the 64-bit installer, but I read that it lacks some proper support of 3d accelaration and that is why it fails for some games. Maybe on VMware it would work, but I am not sure.

About Emperors Tomb, someone is already working on that game and a few level runs were submitted already (you can look it up here on the forums). Feel free to participate there too if you are interested. ;)
