Thank you everyone for your feedback on Supporter and the Beta Features so far! We're going to be implementing much of this feedback shortly :)
Coming up after Supporter stuff, the team will be focusing on an update to the leaderboards including a complete rewrite of both the backend and frontend which should allow a lot more flexibility and be much more performant. As you may have noticed from the recent leak, the team has been working on leaderboards for months - but now it's time to dig in deep!
We've been collecting feedback about leaderboard UX/UI, as well as ideas for other improvements to the form and function of leaderboards from both the runner and moderator perspective - but we want to make sure all the bases are covered here.
So, please if you have some ideas for how leaderboards can be improved - leave them below!
P.S. What information is on the current leaderboards that you feel is underrepresented or overrepresented?
Hey!
Many of you have asked for an ad-free alternative, so we’ve put together this awesome ad-free experience we’re introduced today called Supporter.
But we didn’t want to just deliver an ad-free experience, we wanted to give you more value! So we’ve developed a package of perks alongside it including new name customization options, a way to share your ad-free experience with other members of your favorite communities, a forum to tell us what we’re doing right and what we’re getting completely wrong, and access to beta features so you can play around with upcoming, in-development features before they’re released.
Intrigued? Want more details? Check out our announcement post:
https://www.speedrun.com/news/895-2022-4-14-introducing-supporter
We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has generously donated in the past. You’ve played an important role in getting the site to where it is today. We’re giving donors codes for courtesy Supporter time, scaling from one month all the way to lifetime access for 21 extremely generous donors.
We hope Supporter hits the right mark for everyone. The team has worked hard to develop this in such a way that Supporters receive real value for their generosity and support but do not receive any competitive advantages. We’re not interested in paywalling the core experience of Speedrun.com.
Thank you so much for your continued support. The team appreciates it and is looking forward to hearing from you about all things Supporter!
Cheers, Speedrun.com Team
This is a community request dating as far back as 2018! We’re very excited to bring Featured Run into the beta program. Show off your favorite run right at the top of your profile, where it belongs :)
Featuring a run is super simple. Just head over to the Featured Run section of your settings, place a star next to the run you’d like to feature, press the save button - and you’re done!
What do you think? What run are you going to feature on your profile? Let us know! :D
The default ordering for games on a user profile has been Chronological (newest to oldest) for a very long time. Now you can decide between Chronologic (this is the default), Alphabetical, or Custom.
Custom Game Ordering is really the biggest part of this new feature, putting the power in your hands to decide how you want to present your speedrunning career to others.
(view inside the Game Order editor)
(view on profile)
Personally, I used this on my profile to break my runs down into style of speedrun (movement first, FPS after that) and within those styles I broke it down even further into series (Mirrors Edge, misc, Ghostrunner, etc) which I think is pretty neat :D
Also, if you want to check what runs are in each game you can choose to expand each game to show all of your runs :)
Do you have any ideas for how you're going to use this new feature? Do you have any ideas for how to improve this feature? Let us know!
Thank you for becoming a Speedrun.com Supporter! All of us at Elo Entertainment appreciate that you believe in the future of Speedrun.com. We are always looking for your feedback to help us shape the future of SRC for the better.
We do ask that if you have any bugs to report, you still report them using the Support Hub to make sure our Support team can properly triage and prioritize reported bugs!
That all said - what are your thoughts? Positive or negative - we want to know!
Today, we're launching an updated user settings page. Our development team has worked hard in this area to increase user security and rebuild the site infrastructure in this area to set a foundation for exciting things to come! Before we dig in, I’d like to give a personal big thanks to the closed beta testers who helped us polish this release:
Daravae Symystery Danejerus Seydie Sjorec ShikenNuggets Ekorn
You were all a massive help in creating a smooth launch of this update, and we look forward to more beta tests for future updates!
On top of rebuilding the settings page from the ground up to create a better foundation for future projects, it now has a few security improvements, some clarification around the purpose of many settings, better organization to find important settings, and a fresh coat of paint to boot!
I won’t dive into the nitty gritty details of everything that was changed around, tweaked, or added because it's a lot of small things — but I encourage you to check it out and see everything new for yourself!
If you’d like to discuss the new settings page, please use this thread! We'll monitor it for the next couple of days before locking the thread and asking everyone to take their user settings related bug reports and feedback over to the Support Hub! [This thread has now been locked!]

Let us know down below what your thoughts are!
Went to join the Discord and the invites invalid :/
Also, how do you ensure you run in offline mode? Is the only way to disconnect from wifi?
Have a speedrunning event or show you'd like shown on the front page of SRC? Submit a new ticket under "Request Promotion" here :D
Content is not limited to marathons, feel free to submit speedrun related shows, TAS premieres, tournaments, races, etc. We will be deciding content eligibility on a case by case basis, and we are always excited to see what the community comes up with. We look forward to your request!
Just ordered my copy of BD, is there a guide somewhere for Menu Storage and other tricks for Any%? :D

I'm currently learning this game, and I'm using the Flashpoint version. I tried doing the level 2 deathwarp that's right at the beginning of the level, but it just brings me back to the start of the level. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not in this version? Other deathwarps work, which is why I'm confused as to why this one isn't working

Hey everyone, we’ve got a second round of moderation features for the recently released comments sections. Let’s dig into the details.
##Comments Permission Levels • Game Moderators (both Super Mods & Regular Mods) can choose a setting for run comments on their game:
- Allow comments on runs
- Allow comments from users with a verified run (in any game)
- Allow comments from users with a verified run (in this game)
- Disable comments on runs for this game
##Individual Run Comments Controls • Authors (Runners) or Game Moderators can lock comments sections, preventing new comments from being posted but leaving old ones in place • Authors (Runners) or Game Moderators can disable comments sections, preventing new comments from being posted and wiping existing comments
For more details, check out the news post about the changes here https://www.speedrun.com/news/884-2021-10-21-games-profiles-comments-disabling-permission-levels-controls
Hey everyone, following up on the recent Games & Profiles update and the concerns around the comments feature we’ve incrementally released a host of bug fixes, anti-spam measures, as well as moderation and privacy features. Here’s a list of the changes
• Allow runners (and run submitters) to moderate comments on their runs • Allow runners to globally disable comments on their runs • Fix issue where sometimes game moderators could not moderate comments • Added additional actions when moderating comments:
- Option to remove all other comments made by that author on that run
- Option to add the comment author to your block list
- Added ability for moderators (and runners, on their own runs) to view deleted comments
• Added measures to limit comment spam • Added measures to limit unproductive comments • Added measures to limit the ability for accounts created with malicious intent to post comments
• Allow users to globally disable comments on their runs • Allow users to hide the "Games Followed" statistics on their profile • Comments cannot be posted on runs if the comment author is blocked by the runner
These options can be toggled through the new Privacy settings page
• Added a "RUNNER" badge on comments when a runner posts a comment on their own run • Minor comment style improvements • Minor leaderboard style improvements

BEFORE we get into this post, check out this Google Sheets by Treyful who has compiled multiple different decks - some more up to date than this forum post. I'll make efforts to update this soon with the "best" decks, but it takes time :D (Written November 23rd, 2021)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1axIkdNFDyyjYeIjFqVLyTejnVFRzaCuVZbSb5emmDyM/edit#gid=0
Onto the rest of the post!
You'll notice pretty much EVERY build leans very heavily on +Move speed and sprint/stamina efficiency early on, bringing in use speed (act 1), weakpoint damage (act 2), and stamina (every act) later on. This is because of a technique called Stamina Hopping (or Stamhop/Stamhopping) in which you sprint for a short period of time, let go, and then jump within a short window. This uses less stamina and keeps you at a similar speed to sprinting, and its very important for the early game.
With all that out of the way, let's take a look at the builds. Keep in mind, the game is still relatively new and decks still get tweaked now and again, so check the date in the title of this forum post to check the relevancy of these listed decks.
Okay so some notes before this one. Unfortuantely at the moment, the "optimal" deck is kind of reliant RNG. Ideally, you'd use this deck with a Barrett sniper that has a chance of dropping on spawn. Using another sniper also works, but not quite as well. If you get no sniper... well that's pretty unfortunate.
There also was a discussion in the Discord about a shotgun build similar to this sniper one, but I don't have any details on that one. Perhaps it would be more consistent with RNG?
Anyhow, let's talk about character. In Acts 1-3 you'll basically want to be using Evangelo exclusively as a solo runner, but in Act 4 it comes down to 2 choices in my mind.
Walker
- +20% accuracy after precision kills for 5 seconds
- +10% damage all around
- +10 Team Health
Walker is a good all-rounder for damage
Jim
- +2.5% stacking damage after a Precision Kill until Jim takes dmg
- +25% ADS Speed (Irrelevant)
- +10% Team Weakspot Damage
Jim is my personal pick, especially for the sniper deck + Barrett.. Not only does he get 10% damage similar to Walker (yes it's weakspot, but that's all that really matters anyway) but he ALSO gets 2.5% damage which can stack so long as he doesn't take damage which is pretty solid.

Hey everyone! Using your bug reports and feedback, we have a mini update for the new Runs Awaiting Verification page inside the Moderation Hub:
•“Edit Run” button now properly brings you to the edit run page • Exclude non-games (series, marathons) from the game list • Properly styled usernames for banned users
• Allow run video and description fields to be expanded or collapsed • Increase size and improve location of run time • Add “View Run” button that brings you to run page • Support Bilibili video embeds • Support Nicovideo embeds • Add game information to top of right column • Add settings to configure default state of videos and descriptions (expanded or collapsed by default) • Show run date as absolute date (e.g., 2021-09-21) instead of relative timestamp (2 days ago) • Miscellaneous improvements to styling
These changes should address some of the requests for customization and quality of living changes that we’ve received. We will continue to make improvements to the Mod Hub including adding some of the more complex features already requested.
Please keep reporting any bugs you come across and continue to send your feedback. It is absolutely invaluable, and we appreciate you for helping us create better tools for Speedrun.com.
