It's not making much difference, I don't see anybody else getting that lucky...
You should know that the ;xx is counting the frames and not counting milliseconds. You can notice because it goes 29 and then back to 00. To convert 14 frames into milliseconds, we need to know HOW it converts. 1 frame with 30fps timing (the timing shown in the video) is equivalent to 0.033333... seconds. Using this, we know 3 frames is 0.1, and now we know 15 frames is 0.5. We take off a frame and get 0.466666... which now means the proper time for the 20 second run is not 20.14, but 20.466.
I might vote for adding some of the modes that are in printlessC, and particularly the ones that present some kind of new challenge, and can't be exploited. Ragequit mode is kinda pointless when you can have a zero death run that would make no difference to the run, but Glitchy is a good suggestion purely because it kinda tests your memory of where those platforms that disappear are.
Great! Would we allow sped up recordings?
I've noticed that a rule is on No Skips Glitchless that you must have video footage. While it's a good suggestion, a video of mine shows somebody using click teleportation to fake Any% times too. From 1/1/2018, users should put video footage of them completing the stage in the time they're submitting to prove they didn't cheat, and also provide any new tricks that can be used. What's your opinion?
So, would you be able to make IGT the proper ranking?
Also, should we make a Discord. Also Jay's times look outright fake. Myself and Iritius have spent hours attempting to recreate them. It's not possible.
Nice to hear Sodyn! I've compiled some shortcuts you can practice. The Skyscraper super jump is probably well known already, but there's a risky ultra jump that makes you land on the NEXT platform and can set you up for a 21 time. Tropical Dash can go sub 27 if you can get a lucky death bounce off the corner of the "X" platform and hit the end. Cavern of Darkness allows you to go to the right at the start and jump over the hill and into the cave. Over a second is saved. The only way myself and Iritius have subbed 24 on Frozen is by going on the a tiny ledge sticking out the right, then instead of climbing up the hill, jumping off the tiny ramp and landing on the platform. Crystal Mine has a new shortcut where you land on the red crystal in the middle, jump up it and land on the other side. Dragons Lair can be done in 27 by going along the right path at the start, running on the edge of the big brick, and landing on an orange roof to the right. Pastel Valley can't do the previously mentioned strategy without a death bounce, but if you go from the landing point to there, you're still saving time. Heights can allow you to jump from the second trampoline (positioned on the wall) and with careful angling, you can land and finish in about 16 seconds. Myself and Iritius have discussed how high jumps work, and I tested that there was no invisible wall in the stage, so for the hardest trick in the game, do s precise jump off the platform before the trampoline to smash into the corner, where you get flung up and have enough height to finish. While it doesn't save your ridiculous time, I screenshotted my 7.8 that I achieved.
Yes, but why would real time be used for our current main categories? It would be completely reliant on how fast others finish, or fail.
Not sure how much it cuts off.
Hey there! I'm MaxDragonSoul, and if you've done speedruns of Speed Run 4 you may have heard of me. I am a former world champion in that game. To start off I want to ask a few questions about how this has been set up. There is both Time and IGT as options. I'm not sure why this is a thing but I can understand that if you lag and don't go through the portal instantly, there can be compensation. I'm also intrigued by the Multiplayer category and the amount of players within a run submission. I don't believe the amount of players in a submission is important, as collision detection and interaction between players in a game are both not present. The Multiplayer sounds like a fun thing to run, but I fail to understand how it is a category; you can't interact within the run with others. With regards to the main categories and beating X amount of levels, it should be recorded as an addition of IGT, as AFK people can affect the real time equivalent without the use of a private server. Finally, I'd like to question the list of levels. If there is any reason for it to be in that order, so be it, but otherwise it should be in the order that you look at them in the menu. I have a few skips/glitches to put forward, the first being a well known skip in Skyscrapers, where you jump from the right of the orange platform to a lower portion of the stage. Another is in Heights. By angling your jump on the second trampoline in the run, you can skip the final climb and land on the end platform. In Tropical Dash you can jump once on the death plane if you're lucky and skip most of the annoying left to right platform arrangement. I have not successfully performed this. The last is in Pastel Valley that I haven't even pulled off yet. By performing another death plane jump, you can land not near the hill, but by the watermill to the right. I did this once and attempted to get to the rock, but an invisible wall of sorts stopped me. I'm sure it can be bypassed. To end off, I'd like to submit a mod request. As an experienced runner on Speed Run 4, I have translated my skillset from that game and implemented it here to achieve some incredible times, and as a max level player always on the daily leaderboard, I'd be a good mod for this game. Another thing to note is that I'm VERY active on this site, checking it multiple times a day, and I would be glad to check and verify any runs that need doing so. My final point is that I'd like to help my friend, Anando01, be recognised in this community. Either from parental guidance or simple choice, Anando01 is not making a sr.com account, and he has some legendary runs such as his 23.3 Swamp and 32.7 Tomb that he wishes to be recognised here. I feel I could help people like Anando01 and submit their runs here, and give them recognition for their outstanding achievements. So that's it really. I've had some questions, suggestions, and a mod request all in this post. Now I'm certainly not expecting the mod request to be accepted seeing as there are a few active mods right now, but it's more of a way of saying I'm up for the job when needed. Thanks for reading.
Incorrect. Skips are only defined by skipping large portions of the stage, for example you use the poorly textured death plane in Level 6 to jump straight to the end, in 10 you do a similar action, and so on. While 17, 19 and 30 skips DON'T involve the death plane, they all save a lot of time and would otherwise count as skips too. Skipping a single platform is NOT a skip.
Negative. That wouldn't work because it's possible for some users to flip their screens and not others. If the physics have been fixed too, then I don't see the point. It's just the upside down version, and by flipping the screen you've bypassed the hardest obstacle.
